Hiya
Hubby rang them later yesterday and all she said was, it must be correct otherwise they wouldn't have sent it out, she never even looked into it, but just said its an ongoing thing with reviewing upheld loan ppi's.
We don't think she knew what was what to be honest, but still no email response either and no others on the door-mat just yet lol.

Just thought some people may be encouraged to persevere after reading this little success story.
I had a £5000 loan from A&L in 03, without my knowledge ppi was added. I had just been diagnosed with diabetes and I specifically remember saying to the chap on the phone that I wanted to be sure that if I was off work for a period, I wanted the loan payments covered.
I then topped up my loan in 05, again with the ppi added automatically.
I had another top up (for the last time) in 08, however this time, ppi was not added. I had removed it before completion of the 3rd loan.
I had tried to claim back the ppi about a year ago, however the bank just refused saying that they had recorded telephone converstations about the application saying I had accepted the ppi and I understood pre-medical conditions were not covered.
Of course that put me off taking it further, much too their delight I am guessing as that was their intention.
In Sept of this year, I rang a&l to state that I know I was missold the ppi policy and went through the conversations I had for the initial loan application. I told them I had all the paperwork from the 3 loans and ppi was added for the first two loans.
About 10 days later, I had a letter offering me the ppi for loan 1 -£1127.45!!
I called up to complain about the ppi for loan 2 on monday of this week, and had a telephone call yesterday offering all ppi repayments back to me totalling £1800 and pence....
NEARLY £3000!!!
I cannot complain about the speed of the resolution by a&l, they were very efficient at dealing with my concerns.
The moral of this story.... DON'T GIVE IN!!!!!Destiny struggles to re-assert the pattern that was meant to be.0 -

FINALLY, after 16 months I have received my cheque from RBS for £6,826.76 (£16,000 loan, 84 months, claim at month 61). First they denied my claim so took it to FOS who took their time but went in my favour.
Had to complain to the CEO of RBS to speed it up (needed it really quick) and it actually worked to my surprise.
Not 100% sure the figure is high enough, I calculated it higher but at this stage I wont complain over a few quid.Rich0 -

Just to let everyone know, i wrote to LLOYDS TSB re a Goldfish loan which i paid off in 2008, took it out in 2004 .
Had 2 point blank refusals to engage and they referred me to the FOS.
Wrote back a third time, by email to the Chief Exec Eric Daniels, stating my disgust at Lloyds behaviour.
Offer of a £2,000+ settlement came this morning - just a couple of days after writing to the Chief Exec.
Don't give up.:j0 -

See it does work, you give them what for and it is known they do sometimes overturn a final decision.

I filled the forms in that are available on this website, not knowing details of loan numbers or dates of loan,so not expecting a postive result, but A&L phoned within 2 days of receiving the forms and offered to repay just under £1000 made up of premiums paid, shortfall of rebate as loan paid off early and interest on both of these.
Thanks Moneysaving for the info and necessary forms0 -

What were you reclaiming: Store card
Who was the provider: Debenhams (Santander)
How much did you get back: £577
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: £577.89
And then write your brief reclaim tale
So after just 2 letters I have success. First send the standard letter, which Santander didn't seem to quite understand. They sent me a copy of my application form back only. I sent another letter stating that I accepted I had signed the application, however this wasn't the point, Debenhams, as their representative should have advised me on the suitability of the product they were selling me. Today, 4th October a letter arrives in the post refunding £379.12 in payments, £155.76 in interest & £43.01 loss of cash payment.
Thanks to all on the MSE site for your help & advice, this is the first of 4 claims I have & has been refunded in a total of 9 weeks. The others are Capital one credit card, Direct line loan & more importantly 17 years of PPI with MBNA which is now logged with the FOS.
Role on more cheques:j0
