Folks - Without wishing to sound like a right old grumpy git, this thread has just gone massively off track and is being used for generic discussion so keeping a track on successes is proving to be a nightmare.

Any chance of a new Successes thread?

    Hi Grant

A brand new thread for a Sticky has to be arranged by one of the MSE staff, I think you could pm MSE Wendy, who originally started these threads.
And because they are getting very long, they do normally start new threads once its hit a certain number I think, but there is no harm in asking MSE Wendy for this, good luck.;)

Hi di3004 - found it. In the very place I hadnt looked. Thank you for your prompt though. I have reread it and really I should have slept on it before sending! I wish I hadnt have been so prickly. I was polite, firm and courteous but its the words in between like - angry, not personal and patronising that I wish I could withdraw. After all my claim is not personal to him!!!!!!!!!

I will let you know though and thanks for your time and support

    Love Mrs s x

Don't worry Mrs S, all will be okay.

I know it can be a lot to take in.

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Fingers crossed.;)

  • Yey so happy, I have a loan with Nationwide and was paying PPi on it. I was going to go through a claims company to try to get it back and my (soon to be ex) husband wanted it to be done the same way so it would be done properly!!

Anyhow, I ignored them and spent ages looking through posts and info on this website. I completed the questionnaire and sent with a cover letter in July. Got 2 letters in meantime from nationwide saying they need more time to look into it, but yesterday I got a letter saying that they are refunding me £2910.27 + interest yey.
I am not actually getting the money cos I still have the loan and we are in a DMP with CCCS so it will just reduce the loan AND they are gonna reconfigure it.
Can't belive how easy it was. Thanks to everyone who ever posted anything about how to claim PPI back, you are stars.
Still waiting for HSBC to get back to me about another loan, that was paid off though so any money will come to me if successful.
    Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu :money::j:money:

    Hi,

Just to inspire those going after Barlcaycard PPI..
    • What were you reclaiming: credit card PPI
    • Who was the provider: Barclaycard
    • How much did you get back: Over £9,000.00
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Ombudsman
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
Thought i was claiming £700.00 in PPI payments on my husbands credit card. I was under the impression, like Bank PPI, it would only go back 6 years. Asked for a copy of the credit agreement, they, eventually sent back a terribly poor copy, hardly legible, however a bright white box where my husband would have ticked should he wished to have opted out. Looked very much like it had been tippexed. Barclaycard would not explain why, when the copy was so poor, that the box was so clear. Went to the Ombusman who ruled that all PPI dating back over 20 years was returned along with interest he'd ever paid on those payments. Out of the £9K, over half was in interest. It was like winning the lottery. Really made a huge difference to our lives. This site is amazing, I have literally been able to reclaim over £15k in total. I couldn't be more grateful...
