PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Mmmm:mad:
Just spoke to a person in customer relations Halifax and he advised that all premiums paid & interest will be credited to my c/card and that I wont get anything back my self, thought I would get a little back.
Previous posts indicate that interest charged monthly on premium then they add 8% interest.:(
Maybe I will wait till redress team send me settlement figures and then ask them.0 -
Hi Susan
I do hope this gets resolved soon, honestly they are a load of muppets!
So what do you actually think of that gesture they made?
Ha ha ha, what do I think? Well if they were as quick to refund me the PPI I would be more impressed, unfortunately since sending that I have heard nothing more. They really do take the biscuit, in f act I am hopping made - and thats being VERY polite. But thanks to everyone on here, its been a godsend being able to read other experiences and getting ideas on what to do next.:)0 -

Very frustrating indeed, yet when the shoe is on the other foot, its a different matter altogether isn't it?
Keep at them Susan.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I'd just like to say a big thanks to Martin and his team. I reccently read an article in a national newspaper about people paying for ppi of which was missold. I looked into this more deeply as i've got an existing loan running with Lloyds TSB, to cut a long story short i used the templates provided by Mr Lewis and sent them off to my bank, just over 8 weeks later i'm better off by the tidy sum of £6700, yes thats right £6700. Plus my repayments have been reduced by nearly £100 a month, so all in all a win win situation.:j0

Hi I am also trying to see what M&S will come up with - they have told me that they believe that the under-writer in the mid-1990's was Norwich Union. When speaking to them I quoted one loan for which I have documentatiion and the guy on the end of the line asked "Do you also want to know about the other one?" - telling me there was another loan which was helpful! He has told me their back office admin will send me all details that they hold, he was very polite and helpful (at this stage).
I called the FOS and they logged an enquiry which I can at least quote even though they don't deal with M&S before 2001. The FOS advised me strongly to pursue through the under-writer and that they WILL have a regulator.PPI compensation claims paid: Egg Card: £1,107, Alliance & Leicester: £2,425
PPI claims agreed: Lloyds TSB Loansdirect: £16,551, Lloyds TSB Advance Card: £9,360
PPI claims pending: RBS/NatWest Visa Gold Card: £10,734, Barclaycard: £9,375, Barclaycard loans: £2,400, LTSB (4 loans, '90s): £11,670, M&S: £1,351. Plus..
TOTAL PPI reclaim: £67,0000 -

Just to say that I followed your instructions and wrote to Halifax about the PPI they sold me in December 2003. I am a self-employed taxi driver. I used your templates and sent an explanatory covering letter on 22nd July. Today I received a letter from Halifax refunding all my premiums plus interest at 8% to the tune of £4,718. I can't believe it was so simple. I could never have achieved this without MSE.
Many, many thanks Martin.
