Hi, Sorry as I'm new I already posted this on another thread, but feel its worth posting again to make people aware it can be done ....

"I have been a big follower of your forums and newsletters for a while and decided to attempt to get my PPI back on a loan that I have only just finished paying off this month.

I was prepared for a lengthy battle of letters to and from the bank, but to my amazement, within two weeks of posting the initial letter and relevant questionnaire you had available for download, I received a letter from the bank advising they have my complaint and will be in touch within 14 days.

Even better, only this morning, three days after the last letter, I got a cheque for the full PPI plus my interest paid PLUS a further 8% on top ... resulting in nearly £2000 being returned.

I want to thank you so much for all your hard work that you do for people in making us realise that we can fight to get back what is rightly ours! and also for the money saving tips and codes you constantly provide.

I am over the moon and want to encourage everyone to go for it and get inn touch with banks etc. I was so chuffed to have got my wee surprise in the post this morning."

    CHEERS !!!!!

Absolutely Fab, :T:j Congratulations, and great work!

  • After reading some success stories on the forum I decided I felt I had a case against Northern Rock to reclaim PPI. I downloaded the template letters and sent them off fully expecting a protracted and long drawn out affair. This was 2 weeks ago. I got a letter from Northern Rock this morning which went something like this " I have read your complaint and looked thoroughly at all aspects of your sales files" blah blah blah. At this point my heart sunk a little, untill I read the second paragraph which said " I am not satisfied that our sale of PPI met all our standards of service. On that basis I agree to uphold your complaint and refund PPI premiums".

totals to be reimbursed are for 2 loans.

    £428.75 plus 8% interest of £77.03
    £189.60 plus 8% interest of £22.35

If I did it so can you.

Massive thanks to Di3004 and Amersall for your help and advice.

    Hi everyone,

I am new here but thought I would advise you of my ppi claims.
I am claiming on behalf of my husband (he didn't believe they would refund him any money!) for a lloyds tsb credit card and 2 Lloyds loan.
I sent off letters at the end of June. Within a week we had replies, all stating that there were going to refund the money and that we had to wait 28 days. Another week latter we had a letter from Lloyds regarding the credit card saying that they were refunding £80. Having kept 3 years worth of statements I had the proof that they owed more than £80. I replied telling them this on the 16th July. We have today had a reply saying that they do in fact owe my husband £930!!!! If you are not sure that the amount is correct they are offering it certainly pays to tell them that.
We sent the acceptance forms for the loans back on the 7th July but are still waiting to receive there offer and the money. My husband is emailing them today as there 28 days runs out on the 4th August. Can anyone advise how long they have had to wait to receive there loan ppi money from Lloyds TSB?

Now my husband believes me :)

    Good luck everyone

    Hi Lisa & welcome.

That is fab, well done to you and your hubby.:T:beer::j

Now with Lloyds they seem to give everyone different timescales, some 21 days others 45.
So I would basically just keep on at them, and I assume you have the direct email details, but I will add them for you anyway, alongside with the Chief Executive Officer's (CEO), any problem, when emailing lloyds then copy the email to the CEO.
    Good luck.

    PPI Claim against RBS.

Wrote to RBS (actually Lombard Direct, but same company).
A few weeks later they wrote back asking for a copy of the original letter as it had been "lost".
    Re-sent the letter.
A few more weeks later they said no chance of it being mis-sold and gave me 8 pages of rubbish, and a £750 bribe if I dropped the case.
I wrote back telling them to check again as I disagree with what they said.
A couple of weeks later they wrote back saying that if I didn't have any further evidence then they can't look at it again.
    Filed complaint with Ombudsman.

It's taken around a year already and I haven't heard from the bank yet but I spoke to the Ombudsman yesterday who confirmed that both him and RBS saw the claim as valid so it went in my favour. Now waiting for the bank to work out the money they owe, send it to the ombudsman, me to check and agree etc...

However, if someone can help I would be very grateful. How much should I be getting back if the premium was £6,541.79 over 84 months. It's 60 months in to the policy. The loan is frontloaded and they basically added the £6,541.79 to the £16,000 I wanted totalling £22,541.79 (£27,861.12 inc interest at 6.4% APR)

I think someone else can help with the calculation as I don't want to give an inaccurate figure. But my understanding is where frontloaded you add 8% simple each year of actual payments including interest, and this will then be taken from the loan and PPI payments removed from future payments when you cancel your PPI policy. Some posters are suggesting lenders are offering a different loan with revised APR - not been my experience with Egg, Alliance & Leicester/Santander or LTSB - arguably this would mean you remain in a worse position than when you first took out the insurance which is an FOS requirement, and so could be complained to FOS.

This is very good intelligence on RBS - I was shocked by the way one of the PPI team handled my phone enquiry last week ("your word against ours", "you could have always read the terms and conditions") - they seem very unprofessional in approach - was14 weeks, so 6 weeks after the FOS deadline. I am asking for a review from a difference case worker and then will complain to FOS if this is the way they handle serious and legitimate complaints. Thanks for what you say.
PPI compensation claims paid: Egg Card: £1,107, Alliance & Leicester: £2,425
PPI claims agreed: Lloyds TSB Loansdirect: £16,551, Lloyds TSB Advance Card: £9,360
    PPI claims pending: RBS/NatWest Visa Gold Card: £10,734, Barclaycard: £9,375, Barclaycard loans: £2,400, LTSB (4 loans, '90s): £11,670, M&S: £1,351. Plus..
    TOTAL PPI reclaim: £67,000

I just wanted to say that I put in a claim to Lloyds last week about ppi on 2 loans from 2001 and 2002 and this morning got a letter advising me I was due a refund on both!!!
Can't believe it has happened so quickly and that I didn't have to fight. I didn't send any documentation, just emailed a claim via the Which? website.
I don't know exactl;y how much I weill be getting and the calculations seem too complicated for my tiny brain to follow but they are complying with the FOS calculations.
I am so happy. I didn't even have the loan numbers, just my sort code and account number.
Good luck to every one else claiming, it just shows what you can do!
