    Hi DI

Had you got anything from them over the phone, as they arnt asking for my money back as they had a record where they confirmed what i was getting, and then paid my that higher amount. I suppose after all that they could hardly ask for it back, after all i woudnt know which was the correct amont

one of the TL i spoke to even admitted, if they calculated it wrong, they are liable for the loss, and even admitted it i wasnt honest about the previous over payment it would not be picked up..

I will deffo not be mentioning there latest mess up, i just wont spend the money for a while

    Hi

No just all in writing, but I knew straight away they were wrong on the higher amount and asked them to keep checking.

With yours, you did not know the amount and in my opinion they then should stick to what they told you first time on the higher amount, and I agree, do not mention their latest mess up, that is down to them and not you, so say nothing is best.:)

Hi, I havent heard from Allianz yet, but interestingly had two letters from M&S who originally completely said No to the claim on both the card and the Reserve account, now saying they are investigating - Again??? I am intrigued and waiting for them to finish their 2nd investigation! Will let you know.

Thats what happened to me too with M and S and after several weeks they refused so I went to the FOS but as they were not regulated I got sent to Allianz. Allianz are now refusing to have anything to do with it and are referring me back to M and S. so do I go to the FOS and try to get Allianz to pay up or not
  • Okay . a few months ago i told the story of misold PPi from barclays bank .

i had a loan orginally 24600K , after not getting any joy out of the extorianate PPI for redundancy and thanks to the guys on here .

i got back ! £8103.63 back yes back from barclays !

the wife got £250 back for poor service for using our small original woolwich mortgage advance to pay my loan off , as barclays would not cancel PPI ! they wanted to reschudule a loan at 7.9 % to 17.9 % !

the mortgage was fine till barclays stuck their nose in with the woolwich ! a 4 week turnover for the application turned into 3months of hell ! .

we used the templates for letter writing on here and tailored them to our circumstances !

i never even needed to get the financial ombudsman involved !

the branch manager told us to complain about the bank when we paid my loan off !

and we gave it them !

i went into town the other week and in the queue waiting to see the personal or not so personal banker at the podium thing , i announced at the top of my voice in front of staff and customers that i thanked the bank after 25 years of ripping me off , that with their advice to complain i had won back my money ! :rotfl:

i then casually said to everyone , dont buy PPI or if you have it win it back as its not worth using the paper its printed on for toilet paper !

the staff were redfaced and looked worried , bang goes the new BMW i bet they were thinking

i then proceeded to the door and said im off shopping to spend my returned money ! :T

so i thank this site for the help and confidence it gave us to get whats our and some added interest back .

so people if you have this useless PPI or are being messed with by your bank ,credit card comp or mortgage provider . simple advice is

COMPLAIN and get your money back :)

    thanks and regards Jackojet

Thank you for looking and giving great advice amersall, I did not know what to have suggested for the best, but looking back on it, your right, there is something not right about that at all, so the advice you given, I do hope she follows.:T;)

Got the confirmation letter from the FOS yesterday and that my acceptance is now binding between me and Lloyds.
They have given Lloyds 4 weeks to compensate me.
Not heard back from the e mail I sent to Lloyds customer care or Eric Daniels yet. Mind you I only sent it at 11.57 am on Wednesday!
I have also asked then to reimburse all the charges, plus interest, that were attached to my account due to me going over my limit and paying late, as they were a result of the addition of the PPI, and the added stress that this put me under.

  • Hi, Sorry as I'm new I already posted this on another thread, but feel its worth posting again to make people aware it can be done ....

"I have been a big follower of your forums and newsletters for a while and decided to attempt to get my PPI back on a loan that I have only just finished paying off this month.

I was prepared for a lengthy battle of letters to and from the bank, but to my amazement, within two weeks of posting the initial letter and relevant questionnaire you had available for download, I received a letter from the bank advising they have my complaint and will be in touch within 14 days.

Even better, only this morning, three days after the last letter, I got a cheque for the full PPI plus my interest paid PLUS a further 8% on top ... resulting in nearly £2000 being returned.

I want to thank you so much for all your hard work that you do for people in making us realise that we can fight to get back what is rightly ours! and also for the money saving tips and codes you constantly provide.

I am over the moon and want to encourage everyone to go for it and get inn touch with banks etc. I was so chuffed to have got my wee surprise in the post this morning."

    CHEERS !!!!!

Good Evening, Does anyone have any experience of claiming back PPI on a loan that is now on a DMP ?
How did the creditor react ?
Do you actually receive a refund or is it offset against the debt ?
    Thanks

    Hi there

Don't you worry about the creditor, even if your account is with DMP, the ones who set the policy up and sold it to you from the start are the ones responsible, so you take it up with them and not the creditor.

In my opinion if your still paying ppi and its with DMP, its worthless to you, as your unable to make a claim for anything, for Eg, sickness.unemployment etc etc, so give it a go on the reclaiming by sending a questionnare (recently issued by the financial ombudsman service) (FOS) for this purpose, these are used instead od reclaiming template letters now on this site, keep a copy, they have the usual 8 weeks to get back with a response.

FOS questionnaire on link below - further down the page as stage one, remember you send this as a complaint and to the ones who set up the policy.
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

However, what would normally happen - if successful, anything owing on the ppi is normally awarded towards the arrears, and anything remaining, plus the interest should be refunded directly to you.

Good luck and hope this helps.;)
