Thats what happened to me too with M and S and after several weeks they refused so I went to the FOS but as they were not regulated I got sent to Allianz. Allianz are now refusing to have anything to do with it and are referring me back to M and S. so do I go to the FOS and try to get Allianz to pay up or not
My letter from M&S actually told me I had the option to go to the FOS if I was unhappy and provided the FOS leaflet, so did Santander in respect of the claim against 2 store cards, which is contradictory to another letter from them. But I have submitted claims against Santander to the FOS sending them copies of the letters. M&S cant seem to make their minds up!!!! What is clear is they dont want to part with OUR money. The one letter I received within 2 days of my claim letter against the card was to tell me they had omitted to charge me interest on the balance when the card transferred to &More from the charge card - but, they are prepared to forgo the 2 years and it will be charged from now. Thanks!!!0 -
Hi All - I have spent the last 24 hours reading all these threads. Can someone just please help me?
In 2005 - I took out credit cards with Barclaycard, Egg, Halifax, Capital One and I also had a mortgage with Halifax and then changed to Mortgage with West Bromwich - I had insurance with both my mortgages.
I don't know whether I was mis-sold anything.
I don't have any records of any of the accounts now - they were all paid off - Egg put a charge on my property as I was made redundant and that was paid off when I sold my house.
My questions is - are you all telling me that I can fill out the FO template at the front of the forum and send it to them even though I don't know all my account numbers?
I know that I am asking you all to repeat it a little bit - but for new people looking at these threads - it might be a good little refresh!
I am REALLY grateful xxTotal Quidco earnings - £547.98
Everyone is scared of someone or something, everyone loves someone or something, and everyone has lost someone or something! BE NICE!0 -
Have you rung each lender to do a search on account numbers your credit cards/ mortgages? They'd be able to give you account numbers etc? Do you have bank statements to document when you paid etc?
Just thinking off the top of my head, but you'll get good advice on here from others as to your best move.0 -

Hi there as Dirks Engine Room says, you could try contacting them for the info you require, or what you could do is request a Subject Access Request (SAR) if you require detailed info on your account(s), they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all they still hold on your account, but you have to enclose £10 cheque or postal order payment, there is a SAR letter template on link here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553
Try to give as much info/details as possible, in order for them to track down your accounts, full name, any change of surname, full address, date of birth and so on.
To track down your account numbers, if you were paying the payments out of your bank account every month, the account loan number should be shown next to the repayments.
If you are still with the same bank and you bank online, you can check your monthly statements online, some will go back as far as the last 7/8 years.
Another way may be of some help, is to request a credit report from one of the credit agencies, I believe they charge £2 and will supply you with any credit taken out in the last 6 years, so basically even if they were for example settled say 2 years ago, then they should still hold these details.
Google in the search engines for one of the credit agencies, Experian, Equifax etc, some are also free for 30 days.
Then when you have these details you can of course continue to make a reclaim on the ppi.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

lickoloctupus wrote: »Ok I have had the news that HSBC have denied my claim for PPI on the following grounds.
First some back ground info
I took a 13,000 loan out in 2005 and had the PPI applied immediately and was told I must take this out as the loan was unsecured and it would help my loan approval. The PPI was approx 2.5k over the course of 5 years. The loan was used to pay off credit cards and other debts and was used immediately by the person in the bank to offset these debts.
In 2007 I consolidated this loan with an another in essence paying the first one off in full and then starting a new policy again with PPI which was actioned over the telephone. HSBC then sent me the paperwork through the post which I duly signed and returned.
I have tried unsuccessfully to claim both PPI insurance policies as HSBC are stating I signed for the PPI Insurance.
My issue is that I was not offered any loan without PPI, there was no cooling off period as the loan was to pay existing debts and they were paid immediately at the branch. As the loan was unsecured I was not given the opportunity to not have the PPI and all the paperwork was filled in by someone else and I was just asked to sign.
I have now forwarded everything to the FOS but am unsure if I will get anywhere....
Good News I think...I originally posted the above in June as HSBC had finalised their decision and told me no to my claim. This morning I have had a telephone call from an Adjudicator at the FOS asking for some more information and she told me at the end of the call she was upholding my claim..I think this means that HSBC now will have 21 days to go with the adjudicators decision and repay the money or say no and go to the ombudsman which if they lose will be legally binding. I feel confident that if an adjudicator at the FOS says yes to my claim then that the Ombudsman may uphold the claim too. Either way I am more ahead now than when HSBC categorically said no to me....On one other point the adjudicator was impressed with how I had presented my claim which is all down to the guys on the forum and the advice given...Thankyou very much especially di3004 and Amersall0
