  • Re: Natwest. Success - £3,500 refunded. This is slightly unusual as a friend of mine, having successfully reclaimed over £1000 off Cahoot Flexi Loan PPI (per advice that came from this forum and MSE guidance), he rang the bank (Natwest) and eventually got through to someone regarding a large loan he had out. Against my advice, he hadn't written properly or anything, just rang up and waffled. However, after making it clear he had been mis-sold a very large PPI policy that was no use to him, they shortly afterwards wrote a letter saying they were offering a full and final settlement of £3,500. I'm sure he could have had more, but he was desperate to cash this in and buy a new car, so he accepted. I wonder what they really owed him?

Many thanks to this site and forum which is helping so many people claim back money they are rightfully entitled to, and money that can help change their life at a time when the pressures on to pay bills and keep a roof over your head.

Well done to your friend :j:j:j
i think the best way to do it is a short note or a phone call, more banks are complying now, it is not like it used to be when mis sell ppi first started :money:(thanx martin) you had to wait ages and got more fob offs than you could imagine.POWER TO THE PEOPLE :money::money:

Is anyone else having problems getting any information from Alliance and Leicester about when they will send the cheques out for refunds? I called on friday and was told it's taking an extra 10-14 days, so today I called again to see if mine had been issued yet (it's not, surprise surprise) and they told me it's now taking an extra 2-3 weeks! It's getting longer and longer every time I call, and it's well past the 2 weeks they quoted in their offer letter. They say they have put resources in place, yet the timescales are getting longer! i'm so wound up - the guy on the phone could give me no information at all and said there was nobody else i could talk to. I told him it sounds like delaying tactics to me. do you think it's worth complaining to the FOS, or do you think they will say to just wait the extra few weeks? It's starting to feel like they are never going to send me my money back....... How long has it taken anyone else to get the cheque off Alliance & Leicester?

Mine took 21 days, i had to call and call, email loads, they do take their time even when their letter says allow 2 weeks

Thanks Halphy - do you still have the email address you used? When you called, did you manage to get any information from them, they just keep telling me it's taking an extra so many weeks coz of the backlog and can't give me any more details (not even if i'm near the top of the pile or not). It feels like i'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to get any definite information out of them.

Hi , you have to give them 8 weeks, they will probably write again asking for more time. They should have some kind of decision by then and it could be sooner, hope this helps

    Hi all

I had a loan and gredit card with egg within the last 6 years which has now been paid. I have requested my paperwork from but them ,only for them to respond that as the loan has been repaid I no longer have the right to request this information under section 78 of the Consumer Credit Act. Has anybody else come across this problem? Any advice gratefully received

    Julie
