A big thank you to the board and the site for the info I got on PPI.
I sent away the template letter and have been given back my PPI payments plus interest
£600 plus 8% interest.
No squabbling from Northen Rock over it either.
Delighted.
Thanks Moneysaving Expert!0 -

Hi
Thank you for your kind words, I am ever so grateful.:A XXXX
I am getting there now, it will take some time I expect, and I know my dad would want me to get on with it.
Also just to say, Well done and Congratulations to all winners.
Anyone let down, then don't give up, where there's a will there's a way, keep at them.:TThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Think I have a successful claim on one of my cards, although the wording is a bit ambiguous....they don't give an amount just state "the refund will consist of the premium paid plus where appropriate any interest incurred and simple interest where applicable". I'm a little confused if they are including any PPI they took off me prior to the records I have kept (early 2001), or just the photocopied records I sent them from '01 to '05...
Also a bit confused if they will be paying interest on the interest. Either way I have to sign the acceptance slip yet, and I am not sure yet if they have agreed with my claim for the major one. Considering I never asked for it, nor would I have been able to claim for it I can't see them not responding in my favour.
All so confusing...just can't wait to see the money in my account!
Hi honey
Just sent you a message, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. hope my message helps, and have you also checked on how the FOS calculates refunds posted by Maxdp?
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1596473
If they calculated inline with the FOS, this is how they should work out the refund calculations.;) Hope this helps. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Ok just a quick update, On thursday LTSB deposited into my account £3821, almost 100% interest, on my old loan PPI, I cannot say how happy I was to see this, and all executed without any problems.
On the other fronts, my second claim against Paragon isnt going that well, they really do not want to play ball, so sadly I have now had to pass this over to the FOS, lets see if they have any joy.
Continuing even further, I am now at the throats of LTSB and RBS Credit Card, as I know one of these charged me PP, without me asking for it. Sadly upto press they are both now very slow at responding, but who cares I will keep pushing.
Another old loan I am trying to find out about, is one with the associates (now Citi) Citi have said to me (on the phone) that because my loan went into default, they cannot provide me with any details, but i know it was paid up and it never went any further, no ccj or anything. They told me I had to send a cheque for a £1 which i did, and they cashed it, and sent me a letter saying thanks for notifying them of a change of address. That was it. I have wrote back, saying, thats not exactly what I was expecting for my £1....................... where do I stand if my loan did default????
I will keep updating and thanks to Martin and the Team.0 -

Hi there, have you any paperwork with anything that shows this was paid up?, if you paid this by dd take a look at that ,as the account number will be on there. Have you tried the company you paid this back to when it went into default as they must have an account number? you can put a claim in with just the account number, or as i did ,just with a settlement figure. If you get hold of the account number send a letter off with your reasons for mis sell.Idont understand why they have no paperwork, unless this loan is over 6 years old, hope this helps x (doesnt matter if you defaulted, you can still claim)0 -
Hi,
I have just received my 1st response letter of 5 claims i have. It is from MBNA whom i have a C Card with stating they are currenly investigating my complaint and will respond again in 28 days. Is this the norm (good or bad)? I also have a Virgin C card which again is MBNA so awaiting something for that!
Is anyone else in or have been in this position??

Sadly I have nothing, i think i paid all what was owed in a lump sum to stop it going further, so although it defaulted, they should still have the paper work. Another sadly is I cant remember if the loan actually had PPI on it, im just trying to find out. Oh yes, i have the account number, as i still shows up on my internet banking. I rang round Citi, until i found the correct people who i needed to spk to , and they said where to send the £1, and now thats all, cashed and a thank you letter.0
