Hi
had another letter from HSBc saying NO is there final answer on complaint against PPI on Credit card and loan.
confirmed again that it was optional and i would have booklet etc to confirm this, and had statements form years showing PPi on.
and also they dont have records as taken out in 2000
I have filled forms for FOS, anyone have any idea if its worth sending it off, or have they got good reasons to reject my claim
I dont know how the FOS on the banks reasons for not admitting complaint
any help or guidance most appreciated

I've had the same response as you from HSBC on 2 loans but they accepted one claim on a loan that was taken out in exactly the same circumstances as the 2 they rejected (hope that makes sense!)
I've just sent my forms off to the FOS, it's worth a go!0 -
Hi there, and welcome. i love a win with fp:D, the amount you get back is the ppi monthly amount for the months you have paid, you dont get back what you have not paid ,then you get the interest on these payments back.(As this is a goodwill gesture you dont get the 8%interest that fos would award). The ppi total amount is taken off the loan and your monthly payment reduces by the ppi monthly amount, (this is if the loan is still running) have they given you a breakdown of these figures? the offer of 13500 may be the ppi they are taking off the loan, you will get the ppi you have paid to date back to you with interest on these payments, WELL DONE!!
take a look at this website
firstpluscomplaints,co.uk
this was set up by a guy who hates fp with a vengeance, take a look and have your eyes well and truly opened about this company, also they will be glad to hear of another win xx
Hi and thanks for your reply. As far as i can work out they are offering to refund the £13500 which is the whole amount of ppi that would have been paid over the 60 month term. they also mention this will be with interest and they also mention some other form of refund but its worded so badly i have no idea what that would be! and no there is no breakdown of what we would recieve in total. The mother in law is going to call them tomorrow to see what they say. I'll keep you posted.0 -
Hi,
I have just received my 1st response letter of 5 claims i have. It is from MBNA whom i have a C Card with stating they are currenly investigating my complaint and will respond again in 28 days. Is this the norm (good or bad)? I also have a Virgin C card which again is MBNA so awaiting something for that!
Is anyone else in or have been in this position??
Sdstew
Hi there
Yes this can be normal procedure with some, however they are allowed up to 8 weeks in full, if you hear nothing within this timescale your in your right to complain to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), hope you hear of a good outcome soon, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

- What were you reclaiming: PPI
- Who was the provider: Barclaycard
- How much did you get back: £2659.50
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Just one letter!
I was telephoned out of the blue back in February by a company called EMC offering to reclaim mis-sold PPI on my behalf. They were confident that they could get my money paid back on 2 loans, A & L and Northern Rock and a Virgin Credit card. They did this successfully and I got a total of £5668.65 minus their 25% of course! I was happy with this as the the two loans had just ended and the amount from Virgin was taken off the card balance.
However, EMC wouldn't deal with Barclaycard for me for some reason so I decided to go for it using the template letter from this site.
I sent the letter on 15th May and today received a letter admitting they had mis-sold PPI and offering £2659.50. This will come off my balance as before but with NO FEES!! :j
Thank you to this site for giving me the confidence to go for it, I only wish I'd done this myself back in Feb.
Well done and Congratulations!:T:beer::jThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 - What were you reclaiming: PPI

Hi,
I posted a few months ago after cancelling the PPI on a loan with Abbey. I was refused the promised percentage refund of premiums which amounted to about £500.
After sending off your template letter I have now had confirmation that Santander will refund all payments etc. with interest. This totals almost £2000!
Thank you so much for all your help and advice.
Don't you think it's a tad foolish on Santander's part to refuse the initial request? If this is how they choose to spend our cash then I do not think they are responsible bankers.
Thanks again, Sally
Great work Sally, well done :T & Congratulations:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I just got nearly £3000 back from Halifax, including the 8% interest.
Just goes to show how scandalous this insurance was - the loan was only just over £5000.
They were very fast and reasonable and i am happpy. Go for it people.
Brilliant :T:j Well done and Congratulations:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
