  • Again thanks lickoloctupus and SDW. I will expand my query (and fears!) and hope you can comment more. Basically, two loans, both around £15k taken with LloydsTSB in 2008. Huge PPI payments each month >>£120. Loan arranged face to face, agreed PPI but it was not explained at all. I am self-employed. No mention was made that I might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere. It was inferred that it was a good product to take out. Was assured that all was fine and Terms and Conditions were not read. Obviously I am at fault here but still feel was miss sold.

Two credit cards, Barclays and LloydsTSB both taken out within last 5 years. Both have PPI but have no recollection of reading, or signing, anything concerning this. With Lloyds card I was, then, employed with six months full salary if off sick. When I took out loans my Lloyds account was 'upgraded' to a Premier account. As was credit card. Manager fully aware I was now self-employed but did not comment on this.

Do you think I have a claim in all 4 cases?

Many many thanks for any help/comments given

    Hiya Di and Amersall,
October 2007.........complain to Lloyds about mis sold cc PPI.....Lloyds say no
December 2007.......ask Lloyds to re consider..........no joy
    January 2008 complain to FOS
February 2010 adjudicator finds in my favour.........Lloyds ignore

Just passed the 2 and a half year mark with the FOS over the weekend and still no light at the end of the tunnel.
Contacted them again this morning and still no idea as to when an Ombudsman can look at the case, even though it is now prioritised due the time it has been with them and my financial hardship.
Di, did you have one of your cases prioritised due to financial hardship, and if so, how quick was yours dealt with after that?
Dont know what else do do now apart from stick my head in the oven................................only joking, they at least cant take my sense of humour away from me.
Seriously though I dont know what else I can do to speed things up.
I work opposite a Lloyds TSB branch which winds me up even more every day and it frustrates to hear about so many people on here who are winning cases that have only been going on for a matter of weeks or months.
Hi, mine was with fp, i phoned fos due to hardship as the previous week i was told it was waiting for an adjudicater, i phoned the week after, on the monday, on the friday i recieved a letter sayinf it was upheld. Now i dont want to raise your hopes, but i am sure you wont have to wait too much longer, the only thing i can suggest is to phone them once a week, like i did, it is awfull you have had to wait so long, it is about time fos stood up to this company and made them get their fingers out.

    Thank you for the reply.
I aim to phone and email them once a week as you have suggested.
It is really getting me down, although I shouldnt let it, as a positive response could literally change my life with the money that could be involved.

My heart goes out to you, this should not be allowed to happen. There should be a higher body that we can all complain to about the way banks treat its customers, they are quick to sort out loans etc they should be as quick paying it back in my book. Fingers crossed for you and try not to let this get you down too much xx

Well there I was thinking I had resolved the issue concerning my Visa card with NatWest having agreed a pay out of £4300 and today I receive a letter saying they are terminating my card as I still owe them money. I thought I had agreed with them that money was forthcoming, but this will leave me without a credit card at all as I have defaulted on another although still waiting for outcome of claim. If successful will moreorless pay off the card anyway. All I can think to do is write explainign this but if anyone has also faced this sort of thing I would be grateful for advice. The letter is dated the same day that I spoke to them last week. I notice many on the site have managed to get default notices withdrawn, how?

Hi, I am new to this so I apologise if this isnt the right place to put a question. I am looking for successes with Marks and Spencer, both the Personal Reserve account and their credit card. I have had both since the 90s. I am having a difficult time with them in respect of claiming PPI on both. On the Personal reserve (taken out in 1996) they simply state that M&S was unregulated intermediary for the sale of PPI and not a bank or member of the GISC. They efer me to FOS.
The credit card goes back further than this one by a couple of years but it will be the same company I assume although I cant find details.
Any positive feedback on others successes with spur me on I am sure as the rest of this site has.

I am in exactly the same position with Marks and Spencer's money with a charge card from 1995 and a personal reserve from 1999. I have chased via the templates since February and M and S have sent me their final stance..a big fat no....I have written to the FOS and they have said they cannot help as M and S were not covered by them at the time and nor where they covered by the GISC.
I have called Allianz who may have been the underwriters at the time and they have no record of me, but they were not very sure of anything and after 2 hours on the phone I could not find what department to speak to.
So I requested the underwriters info from M and S and after 4 weeks I have a reply...Cornhill Insurance and at the same time I requested the ammount of PPI paid. M and S would only give me the info from 1994 onwards so I have paid £500 and $900 on both accounts. Now my issue is that Cornhill is a subsidiary of Allianz now so does anyone know what address I would need to write to with regards to this.

    I cheated today and went on a search on the internet for any other information concerning M&S cards etc. There was one report from someone who had contacted Allianz who took over Cornhill and they were very helpful and have refunded the PPI. So I have changed my letter and sent it today to Allianz with a copy of the correspondence from M&S. The address for them is;

    57 Ladymead
    Guidlford
    Surrey
    GU1 1DB.

Hope you are sucessful, I hope I am too!!!!
Getting desperate following the letters from NatWest today :(
