You can turn it on/off using the login section of the website on a computer. This button in the app hasn't worked for months.

The exchange rate is the Visa rate (see https://www.visaeurope.com/making-payments/exchange-rates). It is almost always considerably better than the rate offered by retailers abroad.

tnx to you also, glider3560 and dj1471.
as for the button,is leaving it 'ON' detrimental in any way? it wont stop us using our usual credit cards because they are obviously swiped or inserted and their respective pin numbers are used, so, any harm?????

i just wanted to understand why to make the purchases in 'local currency' if the 'real' card company then exchanges the currency to sterling at their most selfish rates.

i appreciate the info you've given me, glentoran99

Supercard does the exchange rate when you pay in local currency,

ok. maybe they are trying to encourage us to use the card in the UK all the time as well as abroad? if it's saving us money, so be it!

If you use in the U.K. You will be charged a fee

i did read that you're charged 50p per POS transaction and £2 per ATM transaction. i wonder if that would still work out cheaper for cards that you have to pay an annual fee for?
    anyway, best not to then.

    tnx for further info guys.

Where is the website? I'm trying to turn mine back on. I go to New York 3rd June so won't get the full holiday to use the Supercard.

Supercard has worked great for me on a number of travels.
Sad to see the pilot is about to come,to an end.
Hope they get the full scheme up and running before my next trip in September.

I still don't understand why they are having a gap in between the pilot and the proper sceheme or why users need to re-register. The only explaination I can think of is that they are moving to another provider, rather than use Tuxedo.
