I'm just back from 2 weeks is the USA using the Supercard. I reported mid-way through the holiday. I had no issues using the card, ikt shows in the app instantly, with a conversion to £ so that part is great.

I manage to put the wrong pin number in during a taxi ride in Canada and locked the card. This was the hastle bit, I had to speak to customer services during their very short opening times, but did manage to do this, and it was unlocked instantly.

It never worked straight away in petrol stations, I always had to go inside and pre-pay, quite normal for the US, but you have to guess the amount, then they refund the difference, not sure I've seen any of these refunds yet on the app!

lastly, as we used this for all small purchases, there are around 80 transactions on the app, my one big wish would be to have a running total of what you've spent! We had to do this the hard way on return, read out each amount and input to a calculator.

Not all transactions have shown on the linked Tesco credit card yet.

One last point, one restaurant have charged us twice, once for $60 on the night we were there, then 2nd for $52.22 the following night when we weren't there. I've called the restaurant who can't find either transaction on their records (worrying!). I'll report it to Supercard, but not sure how customer services will deal with this one, is it down to Supercard or Tesco to chase up and refund? I would not have spotted this double transation if I'd not been reading every purchase from the ap, so some good did come of it.

Overall I'm very happy with the card, and will use it again.

I tried to register for the Supercard when the pilot was launched but received an email to say that the pilot was closed and that they would keep me updated. To my surprise a card turned up on Thursday. Just a card, no accompanying letter with t's & c's. Now the tricky bit - as I hadn't created an account with a password, I couldn't activate the app. I telephoned customer services after eventually finding out the correct phone number (the 0843 number stated on the back of the card was answered & the voice message said I was being transferred but the line kept going dead) and they set up a password for me & told me to delete the app, re-install and login. I've tried logging in via the app and webpage but neither will recognise my details.
At this point, Supercard doesn't inspire me with confidence and I think I will leave well alone until they get their act together. I have a Halifax Clarity card & will continue to use this. I wanted the Supercard to link another card to as backup. Looks like others have had problems with the app too. I want to feel confident that if I have any problems when I use the card that there is someone to sort it out. Perhaps they aren't quite ready yet.

At the time I was unaware the Visa exchange rate was inferior to Mastercard's. Having said that, when I checked the difference today, there wasn't really much in it.

I'm seeing about about 1% on currencies I checked. Enough to make me stick to the Clarity Card for now.

However, I question if saving £100 in fees was worth it. spending £2500 on my Amex gold would have netted somewhere between 5000 and 7500 MR points (first year welcome bonus + outbound spend bonus etc on Amex) which I have missed out on.

I read elsewhere that someone claimed to have linked their Supercard to an Amex.

Can anyone confirm if they've tried it and whether it worked or not?

I haven't received my card yet despite an apparently successful application. However, judging by the reported problems of double transactions and appalling customer service, I'm not sure I am going to bother chasing it up and will stick with my Halifax Clarity card - the only problem with it is that they cut my limit to £500 and refuse to increase it - just need to watch spending and send extra money if necessary - is easy enough to do as I have bank acc app on my phone and usually wifi available.

I also have a Santander account, which I believe can be used without loading in Santander machines in Spain so maybe another option (most hols in Spain).

Following up on this, I spoke with customer services yesterday and after finally managing to explain the 2 transactions was told that 1 has been authorised, the other is only "pending", and will probably not authorise (ie they may have made a swipe of the card to pre-authorise the amount of 52.22 then when I signed the slip and added the tip, they took the actual payment of $60.00) I was told to wait 14 days, then call back if both are still showing.

Neither have appeared on the Tesco card yet, around 3/4 of the transactions have made it to the card so far.

Well its a month since I used my card and still no transactions on my credit card.

I know they suggested allowing 14 days, but is there a time limit when they can still charge my card i.e. have they lost the right to charge me after a period of time?

Is it possible to add a supercard to paypal so I can use it when paying in foreign currency on ebay?

    Any problems doing this?

Tried using my today to pay for my Turkish visas as they are paid for in dollars but it would not work. The site does say they only accept visa and mastercard so it maybe that as my natwest visa debit worked straight away.
