Travelex Supercard

Yes. The day after the transaction, it showed as a pending transaction in my online card account. (I didn't check the same day so I don't know exactly when the 'pending' status started.)plane_boy2000 wrote: »Has anyone actually had anything hit their linked card yet?
Inside a couple more days, the transaction showed in my online card account. Oh, on a USD800 transaction, the amount charged was 1p less than Supercard had told me.0 -
I received my card today, and tried to register.
It asked for my account number. I wasn't sure which was the account number, but I guessed it was the long number under my name on the card. So I typed that in, plus my email and my password. I did this about ten times, and each time it gave an error message.
Has anyone an answer to my problem, please?0 -
Without the error message its hard to say what the problem is.
The best answer is probably to contact Travelex with the details and ask them to fix it.0 -

Having checked my balance plus available credit I cant even see that the amount is blocked as a pending transaction.
Has anyone actually had anything hit their linked card yet?
This is exactly my experience also. My test transaction on Jun 6th initially showed as 'pending' on my linked account but has subsequently disappeared completely. The Travelex Supercard (indian) call-centre were only able to assure me that everything was fine and that it can take "up to 14 (working?) days" for the amount to be debited - though, to be honest, it's difficult to know if the particular agent I spoke to really understood the question. Nothing is currently showing on my credit-card online statement. The (indian) call-centre for my linked credit card are currently stating that there is simply no transaction for the amount or date indicated (pending or otherwise). Whilst it is clearly nice in theory to be getting another couple of weeks free credit on all such purchases, at this stage I am not overly impressed with the transparency of tracking and settlement for purchases.0 -
I suspect they have been lost in their systems somewhere. As I said, their model requires them to receive the transactions as an Issuer and then resubmit them as a Merchant to get to the Issuer of your linked card. The transactions will be lost or rejected somewhere in this process. Authorisations drop off after 7 days if they do not receive the actual transaction. You may be a lucky man but you do owe Travelex the money and they will eventually get their act together and come after you.
Its annoying though as I fully expect / intend to pay, but its an issue for me if the spend appears at some point in the future when I'm not expecting it. I use the card for business expenses which I claim back as I incur them so I don't really want to have charges popping up some time after the event0 -
My last transaction was on the 8th June. Not a penny has yet been charged to my credit card account. I was checking my account online regularly for the first few days but now I'm just thinking if Travelex want my money they'll say so sooner or later...0

You are of course right even though I have to admit i put business expenses on my Amex card as I like the fact their website is expenses friendly. I am sure the ocean has been boiled on this point before but legally I believe the merchant has at least 30 days to submit charges in line with their scheme agreement. After 30 days you could try to argue the toss with your Issuer as they may have Chargeback rights.
So claim you expenses on the receipt based on the FX rate on that day and who knows you may get free money! Sounds like you are not the only one.
I would suggest that next time we all get a proper payment card like the Clarity Card which is brilliant and issued by a proper company with proper technology and a proper servicing model. Money is too important to !!!!!! around with imho.0 -
Slight progress today.... still nothing showing on my linked-card account for my first transaction from 6th June; however a number of subsequent transactions from a week or so later have started coming through to the statement of my (albeit different) linked-card. Interestingly it would seem that once the transaction in which Travelex is acting as the merchant settles (i.e. the one where they actually finally charge the linked-card) the transaction within the Supercard app ceases to show the calculated 'saving' - this may be a possible way for us to track which transactions are still outstanding. For one transaction I now have two duplicate entries showing within the Supercard app for two different dates; both are for the same amount and one of which shows the calculated 'saving' whilst the other (dated for the following day) does not. No issues thus far with duplicate charges being made to my linked-card(s) however.
In conclusion....
- it seems the settlement time-frames can vary wildly (providing an additional period of free credit, but making tracking difficult)
- the Supercard transaction statement is not especially clear (occasional duplicate transactions showing and no explicit 'settled' indicator)
Overall the product is performing as stated. I am currently undecided as to whether I am going to continue using this card; especially as we now know that Mastercard exchange rates are generally better than VISA.0 -

Try using the shorter number under your name. It worked for me.canalhopper wrote: »... I guessed it was the long number under my name on the card ... Has anyone an answer to my problem, please?0 -
            Hi
I signed up to the card as i had a holiday coming up and regularly travel with work. I have to say i didnt have any problems at all with the card in fact i will keep using it as long as i can.
I went to Italy for 5 days, I linked 3 different cards to it a debit and two credit cards. I used my debit card mainly while out there. No transaction was declined the transactions showed up on my supercard app pretty much immediately and it was easy to swap cards on the app when needed.
The transactions did took about 5 days to show on my bank account and about a week for my credit card.
Based on the estimated saving that Supercard shows you when you made a transaction It looks like i saved about £50 in transaction fees. Whether this is correct or not i dont mind.
I travel a lot with my job and if I want to buy or spend anything while away with work I get charged, this enables me to spend without worrying about the transaction charges.
Since being home i have turned it off and deleted my debit card and credit card from the app only leaving a credit card that i do not use regularly.
I don't like carrying cash around with me so for me this is a good choice. My only recommendation would be that it would be useful to have a total showing of how much you have spent using the card.
I dont know how travelex make money doing this but while it is still going im going to use it.0
