Travelex Supercard

Would I be correct in thinking that I'd need to logon to my bank to send the funds whenever I withdraw from an ATM? If this is the case then as much as I see the cost saving in using the Clarity I'm happy to use the Supercard for the sake of convenience.
Since my earlier post I've received the email from Travelex and have been able to use the Supercard to book a flight online. NZ$ 95.00 = £41.70. xe.com calculates it as £41.36 so I'm happy with this rate.
IMO a better way of doing that is to link your clarity card or any other cash back credit cards (not debit cards) with this Travelex to be used for Cash withdrawal abroad and for purchase just use your clarity card as usual. Doing this you get the best of both worlds.
- You do not need to worry about interest or transfer money after withdrawal as cash withdrawal abroad with this card, as this trasaction will be flagged as a purchase (travellex has confirmed this in writing to a few people). Just make sure you set up a DD to clear the full balance each month.
- If you meet criteria, you might also earn £5 cashback by withdrawing cash £300+ from cash machines abroad. How wonderful it is, you will not find any other cards which allow you to earn cashback for cash withdrawal .....

My Travelex Supercard fiasco continues unabated. Over a month into owning this card I am still UNABLE TO CHANGE MY ADDRESS!
The fools on the customer support line are now asking for photographic proof of my passport for address verification. Something physically incapable of proving my address despite having already been given a copy of a bank statement as valid proof. This is an address that Barclaycard, Citibank, Co-Op, MBNA and even the HMRC all have absolutely no issues with.
Numerous times I have asked to be put through to head office and numerous times I get deflected by the grade 1, 2 and 3 Indian representatives on the other end of the phone. They have ZERO interest in dealing with your issue and as another poster (jerankin) pointed out previously are completely incapable of dealing with anything off script.
I warn you now to STAY AWAY from this company as you will be doing yourselves no favours should you require support from this incompetent entity in the future.0 -

Yes I just do an Internet banking transfer.0 -
The more I read this thread the more I realise that this product is doomed to fail:
They have no clear revenue generating model. The explanation they gave to Martin was flakey at best.
The product is very complex from both a technical and legal perspective.
The servicing cannot support the required level of complexity and they have no revenue to improve it.
All that said, good on them for trying and I for one will use the product even if it's only because I think they will screw up and lose a load of transactions!0 -
Stupid question - I've received my card but I have no idea of my account number or password as the app was freezing up when I ordered it and I just had one email with no such details. I've tried to log in with both numbers on the card but no luck - anyone able to tell me where the account number is or is it a call to customer services?
I just received my card today. Odd as originally I was told the trial was full so I was no longer expecting it... so I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, which now wants a password I don't believe I ever created as I can't reset it...
Has anyone found a way of accessing their account at this point: card with account number but no password - without calling them?0 -

You might have set a password and forgot it - I had the same issue, spoke to them and they wanted to take me through security to reset my password - the security involved me telling them letters of my password! But I managed to guess them based on one password I often use and was in - I then had to dictate a new password over the phone! They answered quickly to be fair though, so worth giving them a call. Now I'm stuck at the next stage which is that my bank cards have a different address to my supercard, so I'm trying to get that changed, which involves sending a bank statement and scan of my passport...0 -

Good luck with that. And more so for sending some random office in India a scan of your passport. Something I refuse to do as this does absolutely nothing to verify your address.
Surely the simple action of trying to add bank cards linked to the address you want them to change to is in itself address verification? Tried explaining this to the idiots on the other end of the phone line to no avail.0 -
Well, I'm over 2 weeks since I last used my supercard and still none of the transactions have made it to my card.
Having checked my balance plus available credit I cant even see that the amount is blocked as a pending transaction.
Has anyone actually had anything hit their linked card yet?0 -

I suspect they have been lost in their systems somewhere. As I said, their model requires them to receive the transactions as an Issuer and then resubmit them as a Merchant to get to the Issuer of your linked card. The transactions will be lost or rejected somewhere in this process. Authorisations drop off after 7 days if they do not receive the actual transaction. You may be a lucky man but you do owe Travelex the money and they will eventually get their act together and come after you.0
