A woman who works in Exeter Lush recommends that you wrap hair up overnight to develop it and just rinse it out in morning

Not meaning to put anyone off the Lush hair dye

(I AM Lush's biggest fan & have an interview there next week ;) )

but I did this a couple of months ago - left the colour on (Caca Noir btw) for 3 hours - had to take it off then because the smell had given me a migraine. Washed it out, went to bed cos I felt so ill and when I woke up I found my hair hadn't taken the colour at all. Grrr

I was told that maybe it was a bad batch. Which is fine. but I am going to stick with me chemicals I'm afraid.

I wouldnt think even a good batch would take after three hours when it recommends having it on for 6. As for the smell, I guess I can only try, hope it will be ok otherwise lush will be knowing about it ;)

Moggins, you surprise me... a whole six hours where you're doing nothing?? Isn't it time to reclaim that wasted time and use it to dye your hair?? ;) :rotfl:

I figure, if I apply it when I get home from work, wrap my head in clingfilm, I can do whatever with it on.

And if I get any double glazing salesmen at the door it'll scare the pants off em... bonus!

I'm not getting it at the moment anyway, wrapping my hair in cling fim will send DH running for the door at this rate :D

Ive used Lush henna blocks for years. Yes they are messy and you need to leave them for three hours minimum to take affect but i stopped using them because i hate the red in my hair and even the Caca Noir would turn red when i started to straighten my hair. Although you can colour over them eventually, dont even think about it if your hair has been hennad within 3 months.

I use henna instead of the dyes - the trick i found was to make sure it was body-art quality henna otherwise it does weird stuff. My friend uses the indigo henna to turn her mane black.
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

I use whatever hair colour is on offer ;) Usually the BOGOFs as I need two as well (3 foot long hair and it's thick too!) and sometimes I even get one of the pre-treatment packs to try and eliminate the progression on odd stripes down my hair from the previous colourings :)
Actually I might see how much is left at the end of the month and go and spoil myself and have it done properly for a change with highlights and everything :) It does look SO good when it's done proper... ARGH! NO think of the money think of the money!
