After dyeing it twice in two days, I'd think that her hair might be somewhat fragile by now. Bite the bullet and get a hairdresser to sort it out. I know it's not moneysaving but it may be sanitysaving :)

Use an anti dandruff shampoo to lighten the colour and then use loads of conditioner and leave it on hair for ages before rinsing it out.

If I was her I would leave it alone for the moment, it will be very fragile and I'm not sure washing it with washing up liquid will have much of an effect (in a good way anyway!).

I agree with sockospice go to a hairdresser and get their professional opinion/get them to sort it out.

Try not to laugh too much at her :(

If it is freshly done you can pour warmed olive oil over it, massage it into the hair and it will leach quite a lot of colour out of it. I did the same thing once, i put on a dark brown hair colour and it came out black. After i oiled it, it turned into a more managable shade of brown.

  • I did the same thing last year. My hairdresser told me to put washing up liquid in my hair and leave it with clingfilm and a towel on it for ages. It should draw some of the colour out. It will feel horrible but if she then conditions it afterwards that should help.

This sort of question was in boots freebie mag. It says to use a clarifying shampoo and that should get out the loose dye.

I would assume that using something like others have suggested would do the same.

Method One: Scrunge anti dandruff shampoo into dry hair, wrap in cling film and then a warm towel. If you have a hood hairdryer sit under it for 20 mins and then rinse off. Repeat if you need too. You must use the 'full-monty' anti-dandruff not the newer formulations with conditioners in or anything.

Method Two: Massage Spirit Soap (ask at your chemist) into the hair and leave to rest for a few minutes, rinse and repeat as needed. Spirit Soap can make your scalp a bit sore if you use it too much.

If you are going to use colour removing products I would go to a professional for advice and help. A lot of hair dyes even dark colour ones remove some of the natural colour in the developing process. You wouldn't believe the sights I've seen staggering into a salon and colapse in the colourist chair after a botched tint and dodgy repair. I've seen dark brown and blacks chemically removed and what is revealed could never be described as natural (not on a human anyway LOL), with their being dodgy hi-lights under there as well I would not risk a diy job. If it goes wrong you will have had three chemical treatments back2back and your hair may not tollerate a professional putting it right.
If all else fails could she not buy a hat or a wedding themed balaclava? :D

I'd advise her to leave it for a while and treat it to a really good conditioner.
