Quite so...My DD dyed her long dark blond hair jet black in her GOTH phase.... we had the novelty for a bit of blond roots growing out, but she got fed up with re-doing it almost weekly cos it looked so daft. In the end the BF paid for her to have it stripped out and she came back......ORANGE
Apart from costing £90  and double  it has never been the same again :rotfl: Every now and then she has to tone the carottyness down with something as akin to the natural colour as she can find as it grows out.

While we're on this subject - do you think the anti dandruff shampoo will help with blonde highlights that have gone a bit yellowy? If so which brand.

Aveda Shampoo available at QVC and salons is expensive but very good. The colour enhancing shampoo "Blue Malva" will remove brassy tones from nautral and bottle blondes, grey/white hair and hilights. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
I was thinking of buying a colour to cover the odd greys that are appearing, but after reading this thread I'm not so sure. Can anyone recommend a good brand of colour that will hide grey hair? Thankyou.0

Luckily Superdrug have a new wipe out for 99p that gets rid of all that so I havn't got to go round with a blue neck for days like usual!!
I wipe Vaseline all round my hairline to protect my skin from the worst of the spills.
Many years ago a posh hairdresser (I went on Student Night) used their extra special cleansing lotion to get rid of the spills. I had a sniff and it was baby oil! Since then I use either baby wipes to wipe the smudges off or I massage in lots of makeup remover. I try not to scrub with soap because it doesn't seem to work so well and irritates my skin. I do the mopping up while the hair dye soaks in, there's not much else I can do for 20 minutes with squishy hair.
When I worked in a school I turned up one day with the usual purple ears and the kids took great delight in pointing out every single blob. Little darlings :rolleyes:0 -

Recital deffo cover all greys, most of the permanents do except a few extra gentle ones. The info on the back should tell you if it will give 100% gray coverage. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

Nice'n'Easy will also cover grey (at least it does with natural black shade) You can be frugal too, and only use half packs subsequently just to do roots.
