dont put an ash blonde over bleached hair as it may go green, and dont go too dark the first time, it might go all one block colour which might not suit your skin then it will be a pain to rebleach..either go for the lightest shade of non ash brown (or dark blonde even, home dyes have a tendency to come out darker than they say) or go to the hairdressers and get them to put slices or streaks in to break up the colour...some of these home dyes you can get that just put a tone on which lasts for 6 wks then if its any good you can get the same colour and make in a longer lasting formula.Fr. Do you think I should be daring and do it from a box colour or shell out and go to a hairdressers?
Any advice/experiences welcomed!
If going from fair to dark, there are some pretty good box colours out there, just don't go too dark at first. Dark to fair is when you should go to a hairdressers.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -
I am 25 years old and have been going gray for the past 6 years and now I have decided to take some action.
I am a male and I dont know what I am doing so wondered to get some experience from you guys
I am naturally black and I do not want to use products with s*it loads of chemicals etc which will do my hair more bad than good. I have also heard about coloured mousses and gels that are available and cover grey hair "temporalily" but I have never seen any of these in my Superdrug.
So what sould I use ? Any advice?0 -

There's alot of dyes/mousses/shampoo's etc at the big supermarkets. I know there's a just for men dye. I don't know much about it as my hairdresser highlights mine but it normally has a guide as to what it'll be like if your natural colour is x & you want to be x colour. I'm not sure about chemicals but even blowdrying harms the hair (In my case!).
I don't think it'll be a problem dying it, a hairdresser may be along soon we seem to have people from all trades0 -
Personally, I prefer men with grey hair. I've known a few men that dyed their hair when the grey began to show. They did it once and never again. Saying that, I have dyed my hair for years. I have to do it every 5/6 weeks as my hair grows very quickly. I buy shop dyes as it would cost a fortune if I went to the hairdressers. There are lots of products available to men now.
Not really sure why men can't use the same dyes as us women.Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what yer gonna get0 -
Somebody was telling me of a colour mousse that VO5 do, but could not find anything on their website
Anyone ever seen it on the shelves at boots etc?0
