  • katyk, the low fat supernoodles are free on green - they're not the same but they do the job. Victory, thanksofr posting those recipes - could you put them on the recipe thread too - then we won't lose them when the thread moves on.

look at the sunshine! what a great day to be outside and away from the fridge. Am totally knackered as I stayed up really late last night watching the heroes marathon on bbc2 despite having watched all the episodes twice already. Haven't been this hooked on telly since 24 started. OH keeps muttering stuff about cheerleaders but there's quality blokes in there I don't notice it too much any more. Anyone else watching it?
  • Morning all:hello:
feeling demob happy as just started 2 weeks leave :j . Don't worry Petrichor, I'm not abanoning our exclusive non holidaying club, because we're not going anywhere but it still feels great. I've been really bored with my job this year despite working with a very nice group of poeple but for various reasons there is no question of me changing jobs. So I'm hoping a proper break will help.
Been double checking what I've been eating recently as I haven't lost any weight for 3 weeks an I've realised I've got lax with measuring my milk allowance and have probably been having double what I should have plus a few other naughties have crept in so I've sorted that.
As for drinking 4 litres of water a day, IMHO.gifI actually think that is probably bad for you. My oesteopath certainly does: says drinking vast quantities like that drowns the kidneys and they are not designed to cope with that quantity of liquid. Even the 2 litres a day is based on inaccurate reporting of af scientific paper that says we need about 2 litres of liquid a day most of which comes from the food we eat. Somebody left that off when they copyied the original report and hey presto, everybody now quote 2 litres of water is essential. (I'm talking about an average day with average activity: obviously you need more if you are exercising and/or it's very hot)

Belated congrats Suggs on losing another 2lbs: obviously the same school of maintainingas victory :rotfl:.
I've been impressed too Victory at your trying out so many new recipies. It will certainly help you maintain if you have meal that are delious and full of variety. I must try some more myself.

AS a box participant, is this the time to gently hint :D that I have severe skin problems that mean I cannot touch any form of chemicals, i.e. soap, cosmetics, smelly bath stuff

Hope the sun is shining for you all like it is here in sunny B

Thanks KPC - I was just being MS (Or stingy!) as the normal ones are on 5 for £1 at asda and the offer does not seem to extend to the low fat ones:mad:

Cannot seem to get my head round the diet at all this week. Partly because I cannot seem to decide which to follow. :o Still very tempted by SW but have not got off bum to go and get it, and keep switching around. Diet went to pot last weekend due to DS birthday then loss of pet cat and just have not got properly back on track at all. Each good day seems to be followed by a bad one!
Friday night saw a works party so too many vodkas and large plate of creamy carbonara probably did not help waistline at all:o
Still, on a brighter note, did manage to win a recordable DVD player in raffle and have a good dance about!
About to go back to 9-3 hours as boss on hols so bang goes the walking to and from work every day which will have a major effect on the pedometer count:mad: They now want me to switch to these hours permanently from late November which means a bit more £s but, unless I'm careful, a few more lbs aswell!
  • Chin up KatyK things will improove soon. at least you can be proud of alternating your good and bad days and you know you'll be getting yourself out of the rut soon....

I also fell off the wagon a bit this weekend but hey ho thats the way it goes...tomorrow is a new day and it will be a thin day!
  • Quorn mince is on special offer at Tesco 2x350g packs for £4, a saving of £1.70, so I've decided to give the stuff a go this week :j ...

...Has been lovely and sunny here this afternoon too:j blummin strong wind though, but I'm not complaining :D ...

...I'm a Heroes fan as well, I don't normally bother with series as I usually lose concentration after a while and get bored, but I loved it :j also like Taken which I've been watching these past few days after having recorded it so as to skip the ads. My tastes must be changing  ...

...Sorry to read that some of you are having a dodgy weekend diet wise, just put it behind you, we all have these blips, we wouldn't be human otherwise ;) ...

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
  • came on to post a guilty confession but it looks like i'm not alone in having fallen off the wagon this weekend. I'm really cross with myself as there was no real need for me to pig out like i did but i guess it's done now. I shall blame those high winds - when i tried to get out and do some gardening i was totally defeated. I'm not sure now whether I ought to rein in my syns for the next few days to try and balance it out or whether to chalk it down to experience. What do other SW people think?

Glad to hear I'm not alone in loving Heroes Petrichor! MY favourite character is probably Hiro as he's a comic book geek like me. PEter is definitely the prettiest, although I saw him being interviewed for something and he's not as cute in real life. It's the floppy hair I think.

Me too, had a good day yesterday, lost at rugby and a mate managed to suffer a dislocation and fractured ankle :eek:, didn't eat much, sometimes Im not in the mood to eat, read in the Mail on Sunday supplement that it could be due to the adrenaline flowing? Honest, page 16.

Anyway itall went to pot today, no gym, ache far to much. Dropped the kids off home in Coventry and promptly two bars of chocolate, and two bottles of pepsi max. Stupid really. Had a stir fry when I got home, so hopefully I might have negated it all over the weekend. Dentist tomorrow morning!!

I do WW but yes, if it has gone wrong and calories/points have gone beyond the allowance then yes for the next few days I cut back to counter-act it so the damage is lessened:D
