  • Sorry to hear about your cat Katyk.

I had a brief 'false start' on this thread agggeeesss ago, but I'm back (a little heavier- ) and I mean business! :cool2:

The last couple of months have been filled with non-stop indulgence and this has done nothing for my shape, my health or tbh my mood. This weekend topped it off when visiting friends we ate out 3-4 times! My body has started to complain and I am being forced to listen. I've just done my shopping for this week, filled with loads of veg and I cant WAIT to get going.

The first week of a diet is always the killer for me though so I'm expecting it to be tough. I can never cope with the dramatic reductions in portion size necessary to get back to 'normal'...therefore, I'll be mostly making low-cal veg soups to fill up on to ween myself off my greedy portions.

I'm not going to follow a particular plan but I'm going to calorie count. I've just weighed myself : 11 stone on the dot, 5ft6, 23yrs old and a size 14. I want to lose a stone, but 1 and a half would be my absolute ideal- making me a more svelte size 12.

I'm attending a wedding (in a dress that currently makes me look like the pilsbury dough man) on 1st December so that's my 10st target (11 weeks ish). Then in March I'm going on a cruise round the carribean and south america :D so that will be my 9st7 target (that factors in time to get rid of Xmas weight!!!).

    :hello:
  • Hi Peeps

I really wanting to start losing weight again but due to a great shortage in funds I cannot afford to return to my Slimming World classes.

I am going to look through my books tonight and see what I can achieve recipe wise on my budget but I was hoping someone could post/PM the slimming world password this week so I can see what has changed/new recipes??

    Hoping someone can help,
    Kerry.
  • Hello Kerry have PM'd you the password :)

I started SW last night. I'm having a green day today and just accidently ate some ham whilst getting the dinner ready... I'm hoping this will count as a healthy option lol

Thanks for the welcome katiepoppycat, I most certainly did have excellent fun last week, and I am really hoping that those 12 lbs will come back off quite quickly, and that they haven't glued themselves to me yet!

I don't eat a lot of fruit, but am just making a huge spicy bean thing in the slow cooker for tomorrow, so I guess the slimming winds will be arriving soon :D
  • Hi a1969baby,

Thanks so much for that. Will try and get myself organised tonight and get started tomorrow!

Good luck to you and I hope your spicy bean thing is lovely and doesn't make the curtains flap too much :rotfl:

1969 baby .... Could you please give us the recipe for the huge spicy bean thing in the slow cooker? Sounds just the thing for taking to work for lunch to reheat in the microwave. Well, except for the after effects ... but I'll risk it!

Have just made spicy wedges in the microwave. It's a combination mwave so it has a heating element as well ... just sprayed with frylight and cooked as would have done for baking potatoes. Scrummy!:j
  • Hello :)

Its not an exact recipe I'm afraid and you can vary which beans etc you put in...this is whats gone in mine:

    Tin kidney Beans
    Tin Baked Beans
    Tin Pinto Beans
    Tin Mixed Beans
    1 onion, chopped
    1 chilli, chopped and deseeded
2 Peppers (one Red, one Yellow) Chopped
    2 Tins Chopped Tomatoes
    Sliced Mushrooms
Mexican stock cube(s) or Chilli powder to taste

I usually give the non tinned stuff a very quick cook first, then stick it all in the slow cooker for hours on end, then eat!! Really nice with rice, on jackets,on its own, in wraps with cheese (not at the moment though :p )

I do sometimes use dried soaked (and boiled) beans instead, but I'm so weak from dieting today I went for the easy option LOL

    xx

Thanks 1969baby, I'll give the spicy beans a try. I just LOVE the excuse that you're weak from dieting ... I'm going to try that one too :rotfl:
  • Well done delly(downhill to your 1st st), Skint Catt (only .5 lb to goJ) grannynise - (a small but perfectly formed .5 lb) :T :T
welcome2.gifkerry1981, a1969baby and ftbworried – you’ve made me quite excited ftb as based on your current stats of 5ft 6,11 st and size 14, I too am 5ft 6 but 11st 9 and a size 16: I now can think, only another 9lbs and I may be a size 14 . Woohoo, haven’t been that for 10 years

WI for me tonight Delly – a maintain for me. I’ve stuck to plan but I know others here have plateauxed and then lost again so I won’t panic (haven’t lost for 3 weeks). I’m hoping to do a bit more exercise in the next few weeks as my up and down health is on the up at the mo which may shift things. Must make hay while the sun shines

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • I know there are a few Quorn fans here (like myself lol)

Had something new for dinner tonight... OMG!! Absobloominflaminlutely gorgeous. 'Chicken' Escalopes with Wensleydale cheese & blueberries

    http://www.quorn.co.uk/CMSPage.aspx?ssbid=67&pid=100

5 WW points per escalope and totally worth it :)
