Hi everyone,Petrichor thanks for the welcome back, welcome to beccaoz, well done starlight, thats a fantastic achievement. Congrats victory on the 3lb off, welcome to a1969baby, welldone vickyj and well done Skint_cat.
Katyk I am so sorry to hear about your cat, its very sad. When our dog died we did get another one fairly soon afterwards. I did find it helped my children by getting another. I can't really advise about integrating a new cat with your other one as I've never owned a cat, but maybe if you got a female kitten your other cat may accept it more as he wouldn't feel it was a threat to him I dont know
Hope everyones well and if I missed anyone out sorry, its taken me ages to catch up. Right better go and do some housework.0 -
Any regular cat owners out there who could advise? Timmy and Shadow were our first two.
Thanks Katyk
...dunno katyk but I'm sure the Cats Protection League would have good free advice. You can find the number of your local branch here.

katyk Was sorry to hear bout your cat.
From personal experience I wouldent introduce a kitten to yourTim.
We had two cats who dident get on.(Male & female)Female was put down & then we got a kitten(female) and they have never got on.Major fights. The female went missing over summer & though we miss her life is a lot calmer now!!
As you know a lot depends on temprement of cat.
My male just loves being the king of the walk.

Hi all not been on for a while. Well done to the losers. I put on 1lb! over the last 2 weeks, so not happy. However on a positive note.. ds is back at playgroup and as he now goes in morning I have gone for walks with dd. I have worn a pedometer and not quite reached the 10k but near enough. Question is.. (if anyone can help) in the BBC Fat Nation book it says that you should walk 10k to control your weight. Now since I haven't been doing that (more like 3/4k) does that mean now that I nearly do, that it should help me lose weight because I'm not used to it or do I need to do over 10k? Oh and some of the walking is at toddler pace when I let dd out of pram does that count? as its not brisk walking. Hope this makes sense.
Thanks0 -
Hullo JHKE. I think if you keep trying to beat your step count then it will count as exercise as you'll always be fitting more steps in. I think the 10k is a recommended amount but I think anything over and above what you normally do is good for you.
See what the pedometer peeps say...I'm sure they'll be along soon0
