  • Hi Everyone :D

Was hoping I could join in with this thread as I'm about to start a diet (off to join Slimming World in about an hour :o )

Since I've known I was going to join (about 2 weeks ago) I've put on nearly 11 lbs  being a pig and eating rather large quantites of everything I'm going to miss.. so now I've got nearly 3 1/2 stone to aim for instead of 2 1/2.... I bet those 11 lbs won't come off as quick as they went on....eeek!!

  • Hmmm...Its getting a bit depressing on this thread with the doggy dramas...

I shall distract you all with talk of pumpkin things...has anyone cooked one? I roasted one last night with some other veg and it turned out to be the weirdest thing in the world with very little flavour..does anyone have a good tip for cooking them? I've mixed the roast veg in with coucsous for my lunch and smothered it with thai sweet chilli sauce but was so disappointed!

I've always wanted to have a go at cooking more squashes and it's such a lovely bright orange but quite icky...there must be a way of cooking it nicely!
I grew a few this year and the best thing I made was pumpkin, onion and garlic soup. Yummy and free!!!! I will try and dig out recipe.

(Well I did it!! I lost 3lbs which not only takes me over my 7 stone mark but also means Ive reached that magical 100lbs mark. :j :j :j

Its 8 months and 1 day since I started WW :))

well done starlight this is very impressive and inspirational
  • Welcome A1969baby,
Good luck with the SW joining. I found the first weigh in the scariest.
You'll get lots of help from the lovely people here and I'm sure you'll start losing in no time!

Just stay positive and don't get too daunted by what the scales say...far easier to work in smaller targets :-)

(Just read your signature...get some sticker stars...you can have one everytime you lose then)
