I dunno how best to say this katyk, so I'll just jump right in, but have fun with your rabbit this afternoon[/quote]

Serendisglair:I generally find that if I pretend I'm more confident than I am then the confidence kind of follows...that make sense to anyone?
Makes total sense to me Seren –I’ve been using this technique in life for a while now and it snow balls. Your ‘pretend’ confidence is absorbed by others and is reflected back to you. On feeling other’s confidence in you then increases your own. Not that I’ve totally sussed it of course. Petrichor was brave enough to say she felt daunted at the prospect of being a disappointment to us all if we met and that had been my own inner reaction. Of course it seems unthinkable that we would feel that about our very own petrichor so am vigorously telling that to myself about me! Funny thing confidence/self belief.

Ajax: maybe Sw will suddenly seem a lot more appealing again for Mrs A? I’m like her – veg are an evil necessity (always make sure I have them though) along side the nice stuff. Fortunately I adore fruit. However, I’m a cheese and meat queen, so cutting back on carbs and bread has not been difficult on SW and being tee-total I’m saved that dilemma.
I’m on a little plateaux at the mo and am aware I’ve been eating beyond feeling full these last couple of weeks, although staying within SW boundaries. Just done a half week weigh in which has motivated me to go out for a walk in a bit, so extra weigh ins are not always a bad thing!

Katyk - If you do look on ebay for an SW book, they seem to generally go for more than you would pay if you just went to one meeting (In which you would get the explanation of it all from leader thrown in). I know this because I tried to get one for my parents recently as they were so impressed by my weight loss vs the amount I was eating when visiting them.

Well done justmarried and furrypiggoodscales.gif . Annie: very impressed with the cyclingexbike.gif . Hope you are rewarded soon with lost pounds. Just don’t use up the exercise value with extra food thinking you deserve the treat…

Katiepc: the boxes idea sounds fun. Basically I’ll join in any thing folks in the group decide to try, be it meeting up, boxes, whatever.

Finally, yesterday became my official second birthday to replace the rather wretched one I had 10 days ago. We went for a lovely amble round the small but perfectly formed county town of Lewes, nestling in the Downs. Lots of independent shops and second hand book shops. Yum. Tea and half a caramel square. We don’t shop very often so it was rather nice in the sunshine. Unplanned, but did most of my Xmas shopping :A . Kept spotting nice things so thought why not get it now. Totally stress free and now out of the way. Before you throw rotten eggs at me I would add that I refuse to spend more than about £80 - £100 in total on everyone(16 people) and I don’t have children. Of course in the spirit of MS I should make them all… Nah.

... it already does seem appealing to her I'm sure. You know how it is, the grass is always greener etc. We'll find something for her, one way or another. If she did do SW sometime in the future though, she wouldn't go to class. We both got very disillusioned with that - senile delinquents, kids running round despite the best glares the consultant could muster, prima donnas banging on about vodka.... brrr!

.... you'll be fine, I'm sure. Just try a bit of variation in your food, at least three things this week that you've never had before.

I feel a little bit silly about my midweek one now as 5 of that 7 has gone. Dunno what happened :o

Sorry, just wanted to add - you're only supposed to weigh food for a period of time and then learn to recognise what that portion looks like. If you plateau then go back to weighing. It's why WW have the info in the book about what portion of rice/meat etc. looks like.

I didnt realise that! I have to admit I still weigh pretty much everything, I dont trust myself to guess things

    ..... why?

...indeed starlight why would you want to guess when you can take human error out of the equation?

Well done you :T . Impressed.
Thanks for the info on ntl. Groan, that probably means I need to ring them then.
I think it was you that mentioned the dietplate the other day? ( I think it's an English woman's invention)
I confess I have one :o . I bought it a few years ago. Clearly it didn't work coz I am now on this site :rotfl: , but I think like any weight loss plan, it would work if you committed to using it properly. It really does help with portion control if you want it to. It's still my favourite plate as although is has a large diameter, the inner dip is actually the size of a side plate so it's like using a smaller plate really and so I always have a 'plateful'.

Keep weighing starlight otherwise human error will creep in. It would be so easy to slip in another extra points worth here or there. Weighing gives you clear boundaries so it is far less tempting to add a few more grams here and there becasue 'surely they won't make any difference'.

Ajax - yes I always weigh or spoon my baked beans to exactly what they say I'm allowed :D : it is annoying that this leaves about a spoonful in a small can (I usually have then on a red day), but I work on the principle that the calorie whatever has been worked out, and ignoring it here and there will mean the plan won't work so effectively

     XMAS SHOPPING!

I am very impressed by you all - but horrified at how unorganised I am this year!!! Usually have about £200 put aside by this time of year but had first foreign hol in 14 years this summer so all saving for anything else went out the window. Fund currently stands around £20:eek:

Panic threatening to set in. Hope Quidco comes through in time as have only just started and not had time to be paid anything yet!
