  • Hullo delly...my current shoping always sees me in Primark!
Its a good idea to raid each others wardrobes the only problem is all my friends bar one are skinny size 8's so no hope there :-)

I'm quite lucky in some ways that I get to wear ordinary clothes to work (jeans and T-shirts) the trouble is everything looks really old after about 4 months.

Nope - as far as I know (and I'm SURE it's in the book this time). You can switch between the points plan and core plan every week if you want to.

What foods is Mrs A missing out on?

.....rice, couscous, parsnips, potatoes, pasta, baked beans...... all of the things that the WW points plan really hammers you for. Core plan could be helpful, but the restrictions are a bit off-putting I think (can haveTHIS type of pasta, NOT this type of rice, can have Weetabix as a main meal but not a snack etc).

Sausages, omelette, wedges and beans used to be free for her. It's hit her hard lol.

I generally find that if I pretend I'm more confident than I am ......time you feel good along the way rather than depressed and dowdy...that make sense to anyone? :D

..... lol yes, very familiar. I had a dalliance with the gym for a while and used to say "alright" to the beefcakes in a very gruff voice when eye contact was made - at least two octaves lower than my normal voice. Gotta pretend to be comfortable :)

Hmm, can really help there except that days when I'm REALLY hungry I'd use my points to take bigger portions than WW would give points for (sometimes double). It means I have less for snacks etc but worth it (have built up a few bonus points in my time too.)
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

I was irretrievably influenced by Trinny and Suzannah ages ago and find it hard to wear something which I know is going to give me a monoboob.

    ......

Hee hee...I stay away from the corner where all the guys hang out by the weights. everyone at my gym seems nice and friendly and thankfully there is not a glass wall in sight! most of the gyms you walk past these days have the treadmill in front of massive windows...I definately don't need any more of an audience when I'm looking like a molten sweat monster :D

It is definately humbling though when you wander up to the weights station and have to change the weights from virtually an entire stack down to a measly 5kg  don't know how they do it...

.... taking couscous as an example, WW says a portion is 60g for three points. Last night I weighed out what I would use for myself on a normal SW day and it was four times that. She would have less than me, but still a good 6 points worth which is quite a big chunk out of 24. Potatoes are the real killer though - we'd love coming home from weigh in and having sausages, wedges and beans (+ eggs in my case). That lot would be a good 12 points for her and you only get 24. I actually think it's just hit her that there's no way to do this without making compromises.

... I contented myself by thinking of them as fools who didn't know that uberbulky looks silly, and they'll pay for it when they are lardbuckets in their 40s and 50s.... but if they were as smart as me they'd know that :rotfl: :rotfl:

Has she tried munching no-point soup for lunch to help save up the points...or doing some extra walking to 'earn' the wedges?

I tried WW for a while (got the book off a friend) and it drove me up the wall counting everything...especially when it came to cooking (think this book still had points for fruit and veg).
  • Righteo guys,
gonna love you and leave you got to get ready to pop into town and pick up some new specs...(green frames this time to alternate with my purple ones...even with the 2-4-1 offer on it's still lots of money...technically saved myself £85 though...damn eyesight :p)
