That's 2.5 points per burger..... might have to be saved for a special occasion :)

I've been stupid - had a midweek weigh-in. :o:o Was scared after a big day out Tuesday. Shows a 7lb increase, so of course am now panicking even though I'm trying to tell myself that some of that must disappear.

Naughty boy, ajax. But if you are anything like suggs, it will disappear again in a very short time if you are good.

...Victory Sorry ol' chum, didn't mean to make hard work for you not-tagged-smiley-14571.gif just assumed we'd be making our own arrangements and got (more than) a tad carried away :o6h6a5fo.gif I notice the 30th Nov is a Friday, as I shall be bringing MrP he might have a problem getting the day off to get there in time for the evening, could it be for the Saturday? I'll go with the majority though but it will ultimately depend on location and MrP...Re pinto beans, I love them too and quite often substitute them in recipes that call for red kidney beans. Try flageolet beans, they're really nice as well, but in this case I've only tried the canned variety. Dried beans work out a lot cheaper and aren't hard to prepare, I use both dried and canned depending on the time factor :) ...

Any date is fine by me and that way anyone else can work around it:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The pinto beans were a huge disaster, I boiled them for 20 mins as per instructions and they never did get soft so gave up and ended in the bin... will try flageolot beans, canned better as all this leaving in water and then boiling etc is too much!! I loved the pinto beans in Spain in a mixed veg sauce but can't be bothered with it all over here:rotfl: :rotfl:

I have made WW celery and leek 0 point soup and yesterday sweet and sour haddock and it was gorgeous, carrot and coriander 0 point soup was gorgeous and the vegetable broth was gorgeous, I am on a roll:rotfl:

  • afternoon all! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOIS!! Hope you have a fab day. You must be doing something right to have got such good weather for it from the man upstairs.

Petrichor, another lovely poem! That's a real talent you have. I'm also terribly impressed at your installing fencing yourself. I'm having some done this week - My dad was going to help me do it but as the garden has about a 4ft slope on it he bottled it and said if I wanted it doing properly with concrete posts and stuff I'd have to get someone in. I've waited all summer to get the groundwork done and I'm really excited.

Given that there's all this talk about a meet, how about something else community minded? I use the Nigella forum a lot and every couple of months they do swap boxes. The budget is £10-£15. Basically you pick a co-ordinator who takes addresses and then sorts it out into a list so that a sends to b, b sends to c, etc etc. It's up to you what you put in the box - My last one went to sweden so I included a book of yorkshire recipes, some tea from betty's stuff like that. It's enormous fun and so exciting to get a parcel. I would be happy to organise this if people were interested - perhaps we could do it for christmas?
