Hello Turtles! Bob, you're right about sticking to your principles. It was all very civil in the end, left a sour taste in my mouth but at least I didn't yell at anyone and nobody yelled at me.
Payday today, so have thought long and hard about where to put my money and how to save it/how much I have to spend each day. I love working it out, it's like an addiction now!
Another NSD, LTW and workout - not going to hit my workout target and might not hit the NSD target (will miss out by one day if I don't, very annoying!), but still pleased with my progress so far.
Three more days this month - come on turtles, we can do it!Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Today I am grateful for the good weather, for lovely fabric, for coffee with a good friend, for dh being paid an extra £300 and he paid it all towards the mortgage, for great times spent with my dd.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi everyone!
Bit of a mixed day here...started great with a trip to the cinema for movies for juniors. Got home and decided to phone the people I went to for job interview as I still haven't had my expenses back. The girl I spoke to in finance hasn't even seen my claim!! But she took all my details and promised it will be paid next week. She also said it will be £200, not the £140 I was expecting.
However, DH has got himself a ticket for speeding! I'm sooo angry with him right now! They have said it will probably be £100 fine plus points, as we think he has done a speeding course in the last few years already. I could kill him! His dad has offered to lend the money until DH is back in work, but I don't really want to be owing money so not sure whether to accept his offer.0 -
Glad to hear it Academia.
Welsh kitty - what a ball ache! Do you know what he did? I got 3 points for doing 37 in a 30 once which was due to going up a hill towards the end of speed limit sign. They must catch loads of people that way." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

He said he had just passed the sign going from a 60 to a 40 zone and they were hid just after the sign. He was slowing but was still caught doing over 50! I do think it's a sneaky place for them to be, but I'm still angry with DH!0

Hi all,
Another spendy day here as I had a lunch date baby shower with the gff's. Spent £13.90 for meal and drinks (which I thought was a bit expensive and gave me a lot of guilt feelings for spending as much on MYSELF alone) and £1 for a bib. Let me explain. The mum-to-be didn't actually want any gifts before the baby is born so we were asked to come with personalised bibs. If I hadn't been too busy with the spring cleaning I would have tried to stitch or embroider one but as I was buried in the mountain of decluttering I just bought a plain yellow coloured bib from Texo and drew something with coloured sharpies. It was quite fun.
After the meal, I came home and picked up on the de-cluttering. (I was pleasantly surprised to find that my husband has made a trip to the local tip and discarded our rubbish. Hurrah. Ten points for the initiative.). While de-cluttering I found 2 pairs of DS2's school trousers which were a tad too short. I undid the hems and lengthened them which will give me another 6 weeks till the end of this school year and I won't have to worry about buying new ones til September, I reckoned I saved at least £7 for the two pairs of trousers.
Hubby got paid today and he didn't want to wait til the 1st of June to pay another £200 toward Halifax cc. Now it's down to £1700, yippee! That's 3% of the total £49065.82 debt we had since we started our DMP. I can't wait to get it down to 0%. It will come In due time.... Hopefully soon
Sorry to hear about your health messy. Please do see the doctor and get it checked out. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Sorry about your hubby's speeding ticket welshKitty
Congratulations to those who have already smashed the NsD targets. My NSD total is a bit of a shame but learning from that, I have sat down with the hubby and we both thought that a crucial factor in achieving the NSD target is actually deciding which is NSD and which is spendy day. We took a look at June and marked our calendar with SD's (Sundays and Wednesdays) and plan our shopping around that. It gives us 8 SD's with 2 reserves for emergencies. So that will leave us with 20/22 NSD's. Fingers crossed. We've looked at our totals and it looks like we are under budget with food (£80 left over) and petrol (We spent £200 out of the £250 budget [reduced from £350 last month ]. If we didn't fill up our cars befor the end of May we would have a potential left over of £100 from petrol. Our aim for June is to try to spend less that £200 next month (petrol) and reduce the groceries and household budget to £400 [reduced from £650 in March, reduced further to £500 in May]. I will share more details in the June NsT forum if accepted to join the forum.

Good sewing work The Only Girl!
I have managed a NSD today (yay!), and the bread monster has limited himself to one sneaky slice tonight so we both have a sarnie's worth each left for tomorrow. Woe betide if I have to have Ryvita!
Off to bed shortly so I can get my sleep quota in. I've managed to do some of my own writing for two mornings in a row, and have been doing my freelance work for others in the evenings, fitted around dinner and a bit more Life on Mars - I had forgotten how good it was!
Store-cupboard supper of spaghetti con le sarde - or sardine spaghetti. A taste of Sicily!
Budget for events for next month all planned. Looks like I will miss a 40th party, more because of other commitments, rather than budget, but will be able to make a family event for that friend the next day, and that will be a picnic, weather permitting, so looking forward to that, and that should mean I can afford a nice present. I also have a holiday in Cornwall (weekend). £35 budgeted for fripperies. Need it really as I'm getting so fed-up.
Oh, and flip - just realised I mean to send a wedding gift for someone else. Not invited to the do, but I want to be nice. Mmm... will have to see what I can manage.Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, £90.14 spent in total - £59.86 remaining.0 -
Horray wide awake!!! Not. One of the side affects of pg life is I'm knackered by 9 but that means I've had 5 hours by now and some nights get this gap where I wake up. I think because I'm worrying too about the lack of funds for June I am not resting well in any case. Positives I have in my favour, almost enough in the EF plus this month's savings DD of £180 to keep afloat.
But negatives, well don't want to spend my entire EF when I've worked all month and should have a wage to show for it. And if things don't pick up I will struggle to pay the shop rent by the 15th. It's so hard to budget when the facts move from day to day.
Curses to the emergency flat repairs wiping out £1560 that would have kept us afloat at least another month. Curses to the rubbish trade of late. The crap insurance company for owing me £££s & not paying out. And to me & my over active sleepless brain.
giving it till 4 then going to try and get some more sleep.
Night all.

Payday to day and I can't wait to join you again next month. Budgets all set and a wee shop and bigger shop over the weekend will already count towards that.
Messymare hope you get better soon.
Boohiss to speeding tickets and guilty OH's.
DD bumped heads with another girl in nursery yesterday and lost one of her teeth. She is only 14 months old and only had 6! Nothing we can do but a bit upset as she is so young and needs them as space holder (and to chew obviously) for the adult teeth esp. since I think she's got my big teeth compared to DS. Will take her to the dentist today and get it checked to make sure it's all out.
