Huge thanks to apple for May's thread. :T
I've finished on 18 NSD (unless I manage another today...). Over budget thanks to two dentist appointments. Lots cleared out of cupboards and attics ready to do a car boot sale in the next couple of weeks.
Has felt like a really long month for some reason, but happy with end results. See you in June, turtles :wave:Letting Go NST #17

Hey everyone
Sorry I've been MIA, got back from Oslo on Monday and straight to see family from airport, then working away Thurs and Fri, so only just stopped, and have a stonking cold! Was following along with you all though.
Just tried to figure out my budgets - think I had 16 SFDs, including a week away in Oslo. About £30 left across my budgets and only spent a third of my Oslo budget, so thinking of replacing my lost kindle with that. Managed to do Oslo on a budget and saw so much, so would highly recommend it even though it's a pricey place, I had a great time!
It's been a spendy month for annual payments - a year up front of phone line rental with plusnet (but should get £80ish cashback from MSE deal), 6mth water bill, annual car insurance (again hopefully with cashback) and tax, and some of the Oslo expenses, and expenses for working away, which I will get back eventually. But these come out of my slush fund so not in the budget. One thing I should do is incorporate these into my budget - I don't need to as they are covered in the slush fund, but it would make for more accurate accounting. MOT to pay next month on my car which I've finally got back. When I get home tonight I'll finish totting up for the month and sweep the remainder into my FIRE investments.
Mortgage error still not sorted out so that's going to mean sitting on hold to speak to Natwest on Tuesday.
Got lots of things I need to sort out and have a serious look at - need to spend some money on my house and get on top of a few frogs that are lurking around and threatening to breed more frog problems if I don't get onto them! Time to start an extermination programme!
Hope everyone's ok, I'm heading over to June to sign up, and thanks to apple for this months challenge. xxNST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

Happy end of May turtles! Apple, thanks for a fantastic month
Well, due to currently still being in my pyjamas with no intentions of leaving the house today, I've managed to scrape through to 20 NSDs this month! Also managed to stick to my £20 budget on Friday for the meal (and got two drinks bought for me in the pub afterwards, win!). I've been looking back on what I'd written at the start of this challenge, to try to get some perspective:
Motivation: I now have £480 in the New York pot, and have managed to save close to £400 this month from my paycheque, which will pay what I owe my parents for the raised beds they helped me build and make a nice start towards a lump sum mortgage payment.
Me-time and move: Managed 15/20 morning workouts this month, which is not bad considering April was about 4 and March was 0! Was doing well with not eating dairy until someone bought me a box of thank-you chocs at workbut I have limited myself to just a couple, to avoid too much damage.
Activation - Did remember about cashback, but haven't spent anything online. Been using the Mr A price guarantee every week, getting pence back but it all helps and I've shopped there for a year without realising I could get money back, so that's a big change.
You - Listened to three albums - Lilt, that band you recommended are fabalso kept in touch with friends as best I could.
Overall I'm really pleased with my progress this month. June is likely to be a spendy one, but hoping I can keep on the right track regardless. See you on the other side turtles!Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

I finish the month with another NSD!
Thank you one and all for coming with me in May. See you in the jousting tournament on the other side. No lycra, just shining armour!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thanks for the challenge Apple.
Unfortunately, life got in the way for me this month and I have no idea how many NSDs I managed. However, I do know I have gone over on my shopping budget by over £100!! In my defence, some of it was investment towards my new business and it could have been much worse! We only gave in to 1 take away at the beginning of the month, which I think is quite an achievement considering the stress of completing my degree and finishing my final assignments. Now that is over and done with, I am ready to tackle June (after my holiday next week!).0 -
Thanks for the challenge apple muncher
So the last week has been disastrous in terms of debt busting. I have had a major change in circumstances and have therefore ended up with £4000 more debtIt also means that my debt busting will be much slower, my budgets will be much tighter but hopefully I will be happier, although adding up my new debt total has totally crushed me tonight
