Can't claim an NSD today as I've decided to take advantage of the spud offer on the weekly email. I think spuds may be the best thing to grow in the area I have been gradually filling with loose new compost that was an ill-thought hole for a pond. "It will take 4 tons of top soil," says the man who hasn't been the one mowing, weeding and composting over the past few years. Ha ha, I can jump on it now and it doesn't give!

    Bake Off Boss!
Afternoon all! Wishus, it's really sad when people whose art we admire pass on, isn't it? Also, don't beat yourself up about not being published yet, I'm sure if it's something you want to do, you'll get there :)
NSD today, just a petrol spend. At volunteering tonight and I'd really rather not be. Not in the mood to face/argue with people today, and I know that's what's going to happen. But one of the things that I want to change about myself is that I feel that I shy away from things that might be uncomfortable, like conflict. My OH and my mum disagree, my mum said I'm "like a terrier with a rat" when I get started with something I believe in (think it was meant to be a compliment!!), but I know in myself that I do avoid some things because arguing about them is painful. Hope that makes sense?! So, long story short, I am going to argue if it kills me tonight! :D
    Sorry for the rant!

Academia - conflict avoidance is more common than you think I'd guess. I think up to a point it's just sensible! Pick your battles and all that. No one wants to be the person who is permanently ranting and raving about this or that. But so long as you stand up for yourself when it matters.

Well I am done. Today is 20/20 NSD I have never managed this before so it's a good achievement. Looking forward to reading the June challenge now Shy Spender, & thank you to Apple Muncher for running May.

No nsd for me today, with DH being home all day the food consumption has gone through the roof but I don't dare say anything. I jumped down his throat the other day because he asked why there wasn't any more cup a soups...because you've eaten three boxes of cup a soups in half a week, that's why! I felt bad about it because I know he's only eating more because he has nothing to do, but when I told him to go out and buy some more he said he didn't have any money and he's just walked in the door having used my car to go and buy a bike. Another one. Sigh. Sorry girls, rant over.

I'm properly crabby today as I blacked out in the bathroom at 5.30am after waking up drenched as I'd been running a fever all night. Sigh. Onwards and upwards, right?

Messy are you ok after blacking out?

Today has been a very spendy day, not exactly frivolous spending but all luxuries. Next month I must get back on it as it looks like it'll be a necessity and not a choice.

Yes sorry Messy, Fmess is quite right, how are you? The bike question is not exactly important compared to that.

    Hope you're okay, Messymare!

As for your Soupmonster, I read out your woes to OH and we laughed and laughed. You are us!! My OH is the breadmonster, at home all day, eating bread, even magically disappearing away the slices I had planned for next day's lunch in the midnight hour... and as for too many bikes? No such thing! :rotfl:I daren't tell you how many we have. I have three myself: my good bike, my free MTB from a skip and a vintage racer we picked up for £30 for when I do road races. OH has... oooh... too many. _pale_
