I clicked on the bookmark and up came the new site. But when I logged in I got the old one and that's what's showing now.
  • It's nothing to do with being a dinosaur or being awkward, or thinking that we should be telling the admin what to do.

It's simply that most people prefer things as they are. People get used to things a certain way, and want it to stay that way. Simples.

It baffles me why people don't/can't accept that.

The poll on discussion time has only been up half an hour, but the results are resoundingly in favour of not changing the format at the moment. Off out now, but I will be back later to see if the results have changed much.

Here's the poll if people want to go vote. :D

I can give new stuff a try(I do it for a living) but this would have failed basic usability testing.

most of your navigations needs a scroll

How do you get rid of the useless blue box at the top that fills the screen in landscape on my mobile devices. (more than 50% in portrait) which has nothing useful in it

Can we have the forum version set by a persistent cookie or something? So we can have a different version working on desktop and tablet, without have to change options in the userCP whenever you switch device.

Can I just say that I'd like this too, please? As I use both my netbook (old style looks good) and my tablet (newer format looks okay) ...

  • I don't think MSE has any choice but to change the forum - for guests at least.

They're actually cutting it a bit fine. Today's the deadline...

Really not liking the new forum design. It's far too white :(
I'm just thankful you can still view it in oldstyle for a while.

  • I really dislike the new forum design. I am not against change or progress but this is so badly designed. I hope we can keep the option of the old one.

I'm not in favour of the new layout, using Firefox and Palemoon.

I like to log in on pc, never mobile, and check my regular sections.
Today I'm finding it difficult to discern times and titles of threads, the 2 things I use to keep track of what I've read.

I'm in agreement with others about the trend to a lot of light colours.
I tend to skim the treads to avoid those I've already read, and the lack of contrast in the text, i.e. too much white is making this difficult.

I've logged in and changed back, I'm already reading the techie forum less and less and will probably stop altogether if this new layout stays in it's current form.
    Move along, nothing to see.
