I also got the new version. It's the second time it's happened. At first I thought it was some sort of bug! I can't believe they'd actually want the site to look that way. Everything is so spread out that it takes forever to read through a thread. It's washed out looking and featureless which makes it offputting to use.

Thankfully it gave the option to switch back though it's all squashed to one side, like others have described. I think part of the reason the site is so popular is because of the look and layout of it, and the ease of use. Why change it?

Someone please tell me it's not going to become permanent!

Isn't the old forum black text on a white background, same as the new one? The default text size on the new one is larger too so what makes it harder to read?

Is there a thread for reporting bugs with the new design?

The old has changed as well.

No longer sizes correctly and the post buttons have changed.

    Why was it fiddled with?

Thats a really good description of how it looks, thanks ripplyuk! I was really concerned last time - but between that, and an issue with a sub board, its obvious that the Admin team is implementing policy, rather than listening to what forum members want, so I'm not engaged with it this time. Interested, but not engaged.

I didn't see it announced anywhere, as they used to announce changes ... is this another "mistake"?

I like the nice, big, white and blue design, but I haven't opted to change back and I'm suddenly back in the grey and green one!

I agree, I'm partially sighted and the new look makes it much harder for me to read. There's too much white space and the text appears a lot lighter.

I don't normally log in as I find passwords tricky to see and for some reason I'm logged out everytime I leave the board, so will have to have the faff of logging in multiple times a day now.

I don't mind it. :) As Martin commented when they accidentally rolled it out before, change is always wildly unpopular with regular website users. I like the forums homepage - cleaner and more modern. Getting used to the individual thread pages. :)

I really don't like it. I hope we are allowed to stick with the old one on a permanent basis.

I believe Martin has explained a few times in the past why the forum HAS to change.

It looks great on mobile by the way.
