Mine has always filled the screen. This happened as soon as the new design came in.

I get the feeling (from reading lots of posts scattered over the forum) that when the new design came in, certain settings for certain users ('forum skin' being one of them) were 'lost' or 'overwritten'.
    Why?
    Who can say ...

But if this is the case, it is not good. :(

    Ripply,

I've just been playing about with it, and *think* I've managed to get it back to normal.
In the CP settings. I put it to 'New masthead stretchy' (2nd one down) and after a few goes, it seems to have corrected itself.
Give it a go and see if it works. It did take a few goes, but I've gone into some other threads to test it and it seems ok *touch wood* lol.
    HTH

Thanks to everybody for their help btw, it's very much appreciated.

Do you know you can get straight to the User Control Panel using the forum jump at the top of any forum page in the new style (well its at the top right of the page on my laptop, towards the top and in the centre of my mobile).
Ah, excellent - that solves one complaint :).

Don't know if it is quite what you are looking for (and don't know whether it will work for you or not - that seems to be a bit of 'pot luck' lately :( ).
And you might have tried it already without success.

But, if you think it's worth a try ...

    Go into User CP
then Edit Options (under Settings & Options on left hand side)
then Forum Skin (under Miscellaneous Options - on main part of screen; you need to scroll right down to the bottom)
and then try out the various options there.

(Remember to click the Save Changes button.)
    However, not this one :(.
I have "miscellaneous options", but no "Forum Skin" part. Just "skimlinks", "Editor Interface" and "Redesign options" (none of which seem to help). Thanks anyway.

The banner should show down the RHS.

The small size reply box is due to the oversize image posted in this thread messing with scaling for other forum elements I think?

I get it on this page with a tablet, but not any without that big image on the page.

Yes, since a long while back when the default changed, if you want full width on any reasonable size display, you need that option set.

Not on the tablet I'm using. Not on the default zoom anyway.
No, you misunderstand me. (I expressed myself badly :o )
I was referring to 2 bits of white on the screen picture that the poster put up to illustrate their problem.
I assume we all are seeing the same pictures ...
Otherwise, how can we be sure we all are seeing the same text ... ;):D

Changing the forum skin hasn't worked for me unfortunately. It's still the same. I've just put it back to default.

Keep trying, it wouldn't work for me at first. It took quite a few goes. It's frustrating, but I got it to work in the end.

Does iPad remember the last used zoom level for a site? Don't use them enough to remember?

If so may be that switching to the new version and back messed with that?

Here on Android with firefox I can mess it up by forcing it to zoom out a bit, and it remembers that until I close the browser and restart it. Then I go back to full width.

May not work that way with iPad......
