Those of us who 'know how these things work' know that this is inevitable, eventually.
It is for that reason that we are being perhaps a little bit over-strident now. We want to see this forum continue to work well.
I think we will get the new version in a 'death by a thousand cuts' scenario. A little change here, a little change there.
A bit like the Forum Header ...0 -
As above, a little tweak here and a snip there is inevitable and possibly acceptable. Up until it becomes just too cumbersome for regular users, when it will become little more than just one of a multitude of other likewise forums.
Once the design line is crossed into a form of a Jackson Pollack, those regulars who do drop out will miss the community but leave the forums for a less cumbersome one, some may follow others and some may just fade away, leaving MSE to their own devices.
New members will possibly take to the new layout, but without the hardcore community I have images of tumbleweeds and parched deserts, with a few strangers waving in the sunset. Similar to an AOL or Yahoo chatroom.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -

Do you think so? Membership is in a constant churn with oldies dropping out and newbies dropping in all the time.
Of course, Kronks and AndyandFlo could probably keep things whizzing along on their own.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I've been trying to adapt to the new format but agree it's not easy on the eye.
After a couple of days looking I've finally found the logout button LOL!
Also somewhat puzzled why my avatar doesn't show on my posts?!0 -
The old design is by far better. The new design is awful. Who on earth thinks up these things?0

I actually find this painful to look at, can we please do something about this before my eyes start bleeding. All this white space is just horrible to look at.0

Hi,
You can click on your avatar on the top left of the page, go to Your Profile>Your Settings>Manage Version (Bottom left hand side)
Sorry but the new version is really awful! Can't stand it on my eyes and why change without warning?!! Thank god I found the changed back button from the good members thanks to the MSF! Have you seen how bad it looks on a ipad? I don't have a desktop! It's such a shame new members can't have the option of seeing the old version forum ...because Nothing would make me want to join the new look forum if I was new! So every time now I have to sign into the forums, and not read like before! It's really horrible! :mad:0 -

I agree the new version is a killer on the eyes!!!!
So Disappointed, and looks awful!
Who makes the decision to mess around with OUR forum anyway? It's not the long standing members of MSF that's for sure!!!
Because if they are trying to attract new members here, there's no way they are going to do it with the New look horror show!
 Please change back to normal because I can see millions of members leaving over this!!!
It's OUR forum and WE as members should have a say in this and not wake up one day and see it all changed like this!!!!! So mad right now!!!0 -
Losslessly compressing http://images.moneysavingexpert.com/...rum/assets.png could save 1.1MiB (98% reduction).0

This new design is dredful too much white space, not easy on the eye at all.
MSE remember the manta" if it ain't broken don' t fix it"0
