Less than 48 hours till I reach Turkey for my first visit this year! Bag is packed just one more day of work tomorrow, unfortunately I won't be adding much value for our shareholders as I stare out the window and clock watch.0 -

El Gouna is lovely but I am still not comfortable with Egypt. Giving it a miss this year.
We went to Lanzarote in March. Very enjoyable but the weather not nearly as reliable as Egypt. It's Tenerife in June and then again in September but a different hotel.0 -
I'm going to Oxford next week. Hotels are horrendously expensive but what the heck. Looking forward to it. (I live in Ireland now and have the Sterling diff too, boo hoo!).
Three weeks after, going to Bilbao to primarily visit the Guggenheim. I'm sure there are lots of other lovely things to see aswell. Then off to San Sebastian to gorge myself on their world famous Pinxtos, Tapas and late nightlife. Then up to Bayonne, Biarritz and Anglet.
Fly home from Biarritz. Cannot wait, seems like a lovely part of the world, the Basque country.
Then a week later up to the Wild Atlantic Way part two. Sligo, Mayo, Donegal.
Life's tough when you retire isn't it?
You Golden Oldies really make me look forward to retirement, which is still over 20 years away!fairy_lights wrote: »Four days till I fly to Mexico...five days until I'm sat by the ocean with a cocktail in my hand.
Oh you have to post a pic! I hope you're having a FAB time.0 -
Well I'm having a night away tomorrow for a girlfriends birthday...only to Wales but the hotel pix look FAB (it's a proper spa weekend, with lots of treatments booked)
Miami coming up in 19 days, WHOOP WHOOOOP!!!0 -
I've just burnt all of my avios balance on 4 club world seats to Kuala Lumpur next Easter :j. We're probably going to head over to Phuket for a couple of weeks to relax, snorkel and explore.
Before that we're going to Koutouloufari in Crete for 11 nights over the summer (again on avios).
I'm really looking forward to not being all inclusive and trying local restaurants.0 -

 for the Avios purchases!0 -
4 Days 2 Hours until I'm off to Miami for 4 nights.
The weather forecast in Miami is horrid though, THUNDERSTORMS! Eeeuuurrrgghhh This is supposed to be a do nothing but sit by the pool/beach swim, eat, cocktails, sleep REPEAT type of getaway. I'm trying to get away from the rain and now it's following me to Miami!0 -

The X3 bus from Luqa Airport goes to Bugibba bus station, and the apartments [owned and run by a v.friendly Maltese family] are a couple of minutes walk.
Regular public buses run to or connect with all parts of the Island. Ferry [return] to Gozo is only €4.65.
Ideal for a few days.:)
Well, Mr PP, after a couple weeks of research and pondering I have finally decided to book a week in.... Malta! Thanks for the prod - it's been somewhere I have been meaning to go to but never got around to it.
In the end I have booked somewhere in St Julians rather than Bugibba as it looks a little more "lively" - though I have a feeling I may regret it...
I hate hiring cars when on holiday so I really like the idea of exploring the island by bus.0 -
Got home from ten days in Mexico this weekend, had a fantastic time but now I'm feeling miserable as sin about being back
I think the only thing that's going to cheer me up is booking another holidayI haven't got much annual leave left though so I'm considering a long weekend somewhere in August, if I can coincide it with the bank holiday and get an extra day off even better.
I'm looking at Vienna at the moment, has anyone whose been got any recommendations?0 -
