Tenby Beach and it looked FAB!
Tenby is definitely on my list of places to go. Am in Wales but nowhere near there. Know the St. David's area of Pembs well, but have never got down as far as Tenby and Amroth, both of which friends are always raving about

I wish people would share more pix, I do love to see holiday pix!
I will have to work out how to do this. The pic icon seems to expect photos to be on an urll rather than allowing an attachment?

8-10 Weeks, are you retired? I'm jealous!
Semi-retired. Atm have to work a bit to afford holidays. Theoretically I'm renovating house to be able to have an income from AirBnB in my 60s, but have become a great procrastinator, in reaction to working so hard over 35 years, I think! Today is so hot that I've had a couple of hours sunbathing on a Snowdonian hillside this morning .... This is home ... which is rather holiday-like anyway! The only travelling I've done that's been more than 3 weeks was to South America in 1990, so I'm looking forward to the American trip, but it's scheduled for after the renovations ... Which move slowly ...

Get a grip, woman ... Work on the kitchen plan this afternoon ....

I'm sure Malta will tick a lot of boxes.:)

We had a week in Malta last October and stayed here:

It's in a residential area, a couple of streets back from the seafront at Balluta Bay. Smart restaurants there or if you want more chains/Irish pub then just walk/take a bus to the far end of the bay. The hotel is luxurious with huge rooms but breakfast is a bit samey. The main advantage was that it has a bus stop right outside and there's always room on the bus. We found the seafront buses would often pass full.

It's on the very edge of Sliema so very easy to get into Valletta for the bus station to all parts or to the Sliema waterfront for boat trips.

I'd definitely recommend buying a bus pass. We got one at the airport so used it from the moment we arrived.

We had super weather and really enjoyed a sightseeing break which is what we went for. If you wanted seaside/beach holiday then maybe another location would be better.

Trixie, how long are you away for? Is this your first time at that time of the year? If not what has the weather been like on your previous visits?

    Can I join in?

Quiet year for us this year, we did 3 weeks in Australia in January/February as our DD lives in Sydney. We started in Sydney for 6 days then Port Douglas for 2 days, drove back to Cairns for an overnight stay via Kuranda then we flew to Brisbane for 4 days to visit family, finished off with another 6 days in Sydney.

We're off to Lagos in Portugal for a week early September.

Last year we had 3 holidays: 10 days in the Dominican Republic, 5 days in Dubai then a week in Portugal.

We love our holidays and already planning for me to go back to Sydney early next year (with a few days in Brisbane again) and Barbados for 10/14 days for our 30th wedding anniversary in September, looking at Sandals as our choice of hotel.

I'm suppose it's a cheap way of glancing many countries in one swoop, but decided that the seas may be too rough & it'll be cold.

Legs need browning after having them covered up most of the time in Nepal.

The Lagos in Portugal is pronounced Lagosh or Lagoosh, in case you're wondering, it's about an hours' drive along the coast from Faro, it's a small-ish town with a marina and gorgeous beaches, this will be our 5th visit.

Where in Oz are you going!

Duke. You haven't really mentioned much about your Nepal trip, other than you kept your foot on the brake while enjoying the outstanding scenery on those scary roads.

Was the tour good vfm? Did Travelbird keep to their proposed itinerary, and would you recommend Travelbird?
