I want to do a trip to Vilinus soon to see where my grandparents lived before they fled in 1900. Can do it really cheaply as Ryanair fly direct and there's plenty of apartments in the old part of the city (and only 10 minutes airport to city too).

I've also just been contacted by a long lost cousin from the same branch of the family whose grandfather settled in Arizona (when the family fled they scattered and some ended up in the US some in London and Leeds and others in Australia ) and I have an invite to go stay on their ranch where they raise horses ..... so that's added to the list too :)

Stayed there too. A bit weird and not that cheap...

    - Described as a double bed, but was only 3'6" max. So we top and tailed!

    - Transparent glass between the capsule and shower/toilet.

Did the job, but will stick to North Terminal Premier Inn or Travelodge Central.

Not sure I'd have loved it so much travelling as a couple either- as a solo traveller it worked really well .
They seem t work on dynamic pricing I paid about £40 through Late Rooms but it was more expensive booking direct with Yotel.

I can easily do 12kg, & that's having clothes for 2 weeks & half a dozen dresses. It's the fact that I have to put some of his stuff in my case as he's sooooo big, & of course there's his 38 shirts, but only 5 shorts :( No idea what that's all about, he brings stuff back unworn, & he takes many, many, socks, he'll be wearing them with his sandals next

I should probably have stayed in a hotel one time because we had a very early flight from Heathrow to Delhi via Zurich. Instead, we got to the airport around 23:30 ready to check in at stupid o'clock the next morning. We figured that we would have had to get up by 4am anyway so why bother. That was a very long day.

I remember the look of horror on my OH's face when he saw the size of the Ryanair case and I was telling him we were NOT going to pay extra for checked luggage. He is fully trained now however and the big cases continue to gather dust in the loft :)

Heathrow is cold and miserable overnight - some airports are quite pleasant though . I quite like http://www.sleepinginairports.net/ . I did consider it for Gothenburg next month as they have some very nice leather chairs to snooze in but in the end decided to airbnb it on a boatel instead for £50 which for Sweden is a bargain.

Very handy the Bath Road free bus zone
Great price for that area- I thought I was doing well in August getting the Heathrow Hotel (the old Aurora Hotel) for £50.

I like the travelodge at Feltham for Heathrow departures -dinner at 'spoons opposite the night before and the very frequent bus from outside the station stops at all the terminals so no treking from the central bus station and it's on Oyster so only £1.50 -so much cheaper than the dreaded Hopper :)

We're getting the National Express from Fareham to Heathrow Central Bus Station at Terminal 3.

Then getting either the 105 or 111 bus to Bath Road to avoid getting ripped off on the Hoppa Bus. Even better if Bath Road is a freebie on 105/111.

Flying from Terminal 2 [to Houston], so will just get a 105/111 back to Central Bus Station in the morning.

Pretty sure the whole of that stretch of Bath Road is within the free zone :)

For future trips if you want to do the train the Feltham route would work for you as Fareham trains go into Waterloo and Feltham leaves from there too.
