Tickets & itinerary printed off, almost stopped breathing at one point :j Bought a few more bits of clothing too.

Any final tips on Nepal Pete? I got the visa printed off & done a couple of photos. Where best to change currency would you say? Did you have any laundry done when you were there? Oh & if you can think of any good eating & drinking places. No pressure though.

Not long for you now eh?

I changed about £20 in the Airport Arrival Hall, opposite where you queue for your visa. Then did our major change in the tourist area of Kathmandu called Thamel. Plenty of exchange kiosks there. When you move on from Kathmandu the exchange rate won't be as good.

Plenty of places to eat in Thamel too.

We self-wash our clothes every day. My missus rigs up a lone on the balcony or anywhere she can. But there's plenty of places who'' wash and iron by the kilo.

If you need to get a taxi anywhere they're nearly all battered up Suzuki Maruti 800cc, a bit like a dinky toy. Or you could get a rickshaw.

    Have a great time.:)

When are you looking for? We are here right now. There are fantastic business class deals available July/ August. Not BA but Star Alliance airlines

    I'm looking for end May.

Last night I was playing around on the BA site, if I leave from Dublin and include my hotel it is almost 50% cheaper!:T

I will make a final decision by month end.

We left from Dublin to save but got a bit screwed when they cancelled our am flight to lhr. However they put us on a later AA flight so it all ended ok

Thanks Pete. Hopefully I wont have to sharpen my elbows to fight for some decent seats on the mini bus every day. That's if we stick with the mini bus, may go off & do our own thing some days.

    Enjoy Nicaragua!

    Thanks MP, will do :D

When you move on from Kathmandu to Pokhara, and providing you're not of a nervous disposition, make sure you sit on the right-hand side of the bus.

It's 200 or so kms along the Prithvi Highway, and for the most part the views are great. If you want to get an idea of the bus ride there's plenty on YouTube. Here's one...

I'm trying to work out where to go next Easter since this year is sorted. Anyone been to Jordan? Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba quite appeal.....

We went to Petra when we went to Israel in 2010 (Jerusalem\Tel Aviv)

Crosssed the border by bus from Tel Aviv and stayed at the Crowne Plaza next door to the site for two nights.

    Tripadvisor review

    Site is amazing-Jordanians are NOT.

Got bus back to Tel Aviv

Would not miss this site for the world-
Could do without the theives though (whom I totalty ignored)
