I'd love to hear your report about Kenyan Airlines? You will love SA. Will you not be visiting Cape Town? Personally I love SA, the last time I went on Safari was over 20 years ago and it was magical seeing the big 5 in it's natural environment, I kept WOW-ing at each sighting!

Which reserve are you going to for your safari? December will be hot down there!

I wanted Chitwe Chitwe, they couldn't accommodate us, I will dig the name out and respond later. We are going to Kruger though, not any of the other ones in Durbs etc.

We head to Florida for the first time in 35 days for 14 nights. Will be visiting the theme parks but also having a couple of nights on the Gulf coast, visiting some state parks and seeing some US sports fixtures:).

This will be our first trip stateside and if we enjoy it are seriously planning a 3 week West Coast roadtrip from Seattle to LA ( or maybe as far as SF depending on what we choose to do inbetween) for next year.

This year we are also doing a 5 night trip to Barcelona in November to visit our DD and celebrate a 50th.

I have a long weekend down in Manchester area in August planned too, meeting up with my sisters.

Am hoping to fit in a couple of other weekend jaunts in the UK but these will be probably decided spur of the moment:T

35 days and counting, very soon you will down to single digits!

A cruise newsletter popped up in the inbox and I'm contemplating going on my first solo trip/cruise in September for 10 nights! Haven't booked it, just saw it.

I helped a friend book flights to NYC for Christmas and she got an excellent deal on Business Class BA (her preferred carrier) for herself and her son. She's THRILLED.....so am I, I like the feeling of having purchased air tickets, once that's done, you know you're going!

I could write a very long list of the places I dream of visiting.

And in the exact order I would go.

It will remain out of my reach but I'll continue to read and envy the travels of the posters on this thread:)

This year, we're going to Holiday Village in Egypt. Possibly our most expensive holiday to date, since it is AI and we had to pay for two connecting rooms (there are 5 of us).

Hotel gets excellent reviews, so not too worried about quality of hotel (you're always a little worried about cleanliness, facilities, availability of sun loungers etc.etc..)

AM a little worried about the expected extreme heat. We usually do Med/Canary Islands, where it is always hot, but not necessarily scorching. Am expecting Egypt to be VERY hot.

Not too bothered for myself (I have olive skin anyway, so rarely burn), but AM worried for my fair-skinned wife, and 3 kids ('cos they're kids and don't think about being burned, only about having fun). Am hoping that if we stay in enough shade, avoid hottest times of day, plenty of Sun Block, and lots of water, we should all be ok.

Any other advice from anyone else that has been there?

I'm not sure which part of Egypt it is but I'd get them to go on a boat trip. They often do quad bike and buggy rides, done both and there amazing (they have some kids can go on alongside for the buggies). Also check with the visa situation as in Hurghada they were on about going to the embassy in London for the visa, not sure what happened tho

Just had a weekend in Liverpool - we can do it in a day trip but more fun stopping overnight as we wer going to a concert there.
A week in a villa in Kefalonia in June
3 days in Dublin in July
Marrakech/High Atlas mountains for a week in October
And although not holiday I'm spending half my working life in Gothenburg it seems right now (been there at least once a month since October, was ther last week, will be there 3 days next week and again the week after) and usually get at least one evening to myself to enjoy a stroll round the city

Am in Texas at the moment. Just been to New Orleans for fourth time, then Memphis for the first time ( what a dump). Although I have been to USA a few times it just doesn't compete with Asia for me. What we have spent on tips alone is more than spending money in Asia.
