Some would argue there was no difference then between ultrafast and superfast as you can only ever get 6mbit/sec for utorrent or direct downloads and I'd agree with them. I wouldn't have got ultrafast if I'd have known. But it explains why some people are saying their connections are fine as unless u use testmy or utorrent you won't notice much. Gaming should be fine, streaming and browsing are fine, just downloads and torrents limited.0

MOre info - direct download just did 10mbit/sec so i think its torrents being limited.0

Just another comparison.
Using the download manager it saturates both lines and shows the same slow down.0 -

Did you try to push streamingin beyond your download manager? I think downloads/bit torrent is limited.0 -
That is good news.
How long had you been with them?
My Fibre went live on 7th Sept and after having five years of 65+ my speed was so up and down you would get sea sick.
Ive switched back to BT infinity2 and although its more money - Its worth it.
The switch is happening on the 26th for both phone and fibre - Took SSE over 5 weeks0 -

Done everything.
Torrent, Newsgroup, Netflix, Youtube
You name it tried everything.

So you reckon that in practice (day to day 'normal' use), the connection is OK? (Unless you want to do lots of torrenting.)0 -
Ordered fibre with SSE on the 16th of September after it miraculously appeared both on their website and on openreach that they were accepting orders. After waiting for 2 weeks with the ridiculous cooling off period, I was told they'd be in touch for an appointment with Openreach engineer. No contact. Phoned them on 5th of October to check what's happening, told that an order didn't come through properly so an Engineer will come round between 19th and 21st of October again they should confirm. Phoned today 13th of October told again that the order was put in the database but wasn't put through to Openreach an engineer should be out on 20th-22nd of October. Then they phone me back saying they thought I ordered ADSL, for fibre the wait will be 27th-29th of October. Then a few hours later they phone back and tell me that actually my exchange is full and it's not accepting orders. Nearly one month waiting only to be told this now. Raised a complaint with them, somebody will supposedly phone me on the 21st of October when BT/Openreach are supposed to release more capacity on the exchange. But given the poor communication thus far, I won't hold my breath. They are saying I will now need to reorder the fibre again, of course the half price offer is no longer available. Utterly and utterly ridiculous. At a loss really as what to do. :mad:0

This is the ombudsman that SSE use. You could have a word with these but I don't think they can resolve the port issue at the cabinet.
If I was you I would not even allow yourself to enter a contract with SSE as they are far from competent.0
