Hi DJBlu, please could you tell me what gateway you are on and what method of testing you are using?


I am currently on gateway 62.72.136.164 which is the one you find unreliable. The speed test from testmy.net are really slow but I can download files from various websites at full speed

If I connect via gateway 62.72.136.165


Both testmy and thinkbroadband tests are abysmal (2mbs) but speedtest.net and btwholesale give full speed results 70mbps


General streaming HD/4K videos works fine and downloading large files from sites is typically 50mbps to 70mbps

where do I find the admin password for the router?

Sounding a bit dumb but can i switch to a different default gateway?

It's pot luck as to which gateway you router attaches to when it connects to your broadband line. You can either login to the router and disconnect/reconnect you broadband connection or power cycle your router. If you can login to your router you can see what gateway has been assigned.

Well i'm getting a painfully slow ~2mbs download tonight. Not happy at all. I'm going to be on the phone to them tomorrow about this
