I received pay arrears of 10k in April 2014. This was dating back 3 years. We were involved in a pay dispute. After tax it was about 6k. I have included it in my income for 14-15 renewal but not sure if I had to? I'm Confused about the £5000 decrease being disregarded? I obviously won't receive this again as all arrears have been agreed and paid?

    Can anyone advise?

Thanks for the reply. We're going to have a major overpayment. Eeeeek. But my renewal complicated. I went from single to couple in oct 14
So they sent me two renewals. But I had already completed the first one then received the second in the post. They asked for both our incomes of 13-14 and then obviously 14/15 but the second renewal only mentions my single claim apr-oct. I'm very confused but it all.

Should I be assessed with the spilt year? Will
They take into account my partners wage before we were together?

  • Hello,

I'm new here! I'm following this post since the start and now have a question of my own!

I have renewed online and one week later my payment has been up a few pounds-the week after they were back down nearly the same amount! Does that mean my renewal is completed?

Received my finalised renewal in the post this morning also the information we gave them for income 2015/16 deducting the pension payments so I am very happy. :). Thank you to Zagfles and Blondebubbles who replied to my earlier posts. You do a great job on this site and it really does help.

I just know that I'm going to go through investigation and hassle with my renewal this year - as we've claimed a deduction for gift-aid donations, and another deduction for SMP, but there isn't anywhere on the form to actually say WHY you've deducted anything... it just looks like you're fiddling the figures by a few thousand!

Im a bit confused due to us having quite a few changes recently.

I called the helpline about 2 weeks ago to tell them my wife had started a new job, so added her expected salary and new childcare costs etc. Whilst I was on the phone she asked if id had my renewal pack, and as I hadnt received it she requested a new one in case it had been lost in post.

I did the renewal online when it came through, but didnt add childcare changes etc to that as id already told them about it on phone. I did reduce last years income due to maternity pay though.

Today I got another renewal pack ( the same as the 1st one apart from the date, reference number, and the payments on the back page are significantly different).
I also got a provisonal credits letter for 15/16 today, which has all my childcare and 15/16 income correct.
This has different payments listed to those on either renewal.
Niether of todays letters has last years income reduced due to maternity pay though. So that isnt right yet.

Do I need to fill in the renewal again?
Or maybe just call them tomorrow and see whats happening exactly?

    Thanks

Strange, I phoned to report a change of circumstances at the middle of May and they said my renewal pack had been issued on 13th April. I had not received it so they re-issued it. I got two renewal packs last Thursday, one dated 15th April and one 21st May. I assumed it was a postal issue but it seems others have had the same thing happen.
