Apologies - I'm hopeless with stuff but trying to get more clued up (it's a slow process!)
Gross pay in March was £1249.87. Tax was 60.40, NI was 59.66 and pension was £118.74. Total deductions £238.80 Then it says net pay £1011.07 Is that any help? If not I'll ask at work next week. Thank you!0 -

I am a part time teacher and so have a public sector pension. Do I take the amount I have contributed to my pension off my overall earnings for the year when I'm confirming my earnings for 2014-15? I've read the renewal information but I'm still no clearer!
On my P60 my taxable pay for the year was £16206.75 and I paid £1251.40 tax. On my March payslip it says I paid £1701.28 pension contributions in 2014-15 My tax code was 994L
Any advice would be gratefully received
I found this really confusing too, this is probably why ive had concentrix letter because of the confusion i reckon its something to do with my pension and i cant tell whever its off my net or gross pay either, so i will wait till i hear.0 -

Thank you. I've emailed work to ask them to confirm before I send it off0 -

Easiest way to check is look at two consecutive payslips and how much the cumulative "taxable pay to date" increases. Does it increase by the month's salary (plus any extras eg overtime) or does it increase by salary minus pension.0 -
I'm hoping someone can help me, I have just done my renewal online, I was wondering if I would be due some money.....our joint earnings 2013-2014 were £10580, tax credits used this £10580 as an estimate for 2014-2015's income, but In fact our income was only £4877 (due to partner going self employed) with I be due anything back? Thank you0

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but I'm a long-time union member and Masters student currently conducting some research on the increasing stigmatisation of low-paid workers who receive in-work benefits (based in the School of Sociology, University of Leeds), and I was wondering whether or not anybody in this group currently receiving Working Tax Credit/Housing Benefit/Child Tax Credits would be willing to conduct a short interview (in person, phone, Skype etc.) with me on their experiences of receiving these, and/or if anybody knows anyone receiving these, would you please be able to ask them if they'd be willing to be interviewed? It would be most appreciated if so, and interviewees will be compensated for their time. Thank you for any assistance in advance!
Best wishes,

If CTC only claim then no as you are already on the maximum.
If also on WTC then there is likely to be an underpayment. The first £2500 of the decrease is disregarded so you'd be treated as earning £7377
Thank you for taking the time to replyI am a stay at home mum with 1 child, my partner works around 27 hours a week self employed, we currently get around £62 a week CTC and we also receive a little WTC which I think is around £45 a week....fingers crossed we are due a little back as it is always nice to have a little extra

So I guess you don't want to hear from those who claim tax credits and don't feel "stigmatised" at all? Or who feel stigmatisation is reducing? As that won't help your confirmation bias. Are academic standards really that low at Leeds0 -
Hi all
I rang and renewed my tax credits some weeks ago and have received my provisional 14/15 award and 15/16 award.
when I renewed I asked them to deduct my husbands loss from my earnings but they haven't done this resulting in a large overpayment from 14/15.
Should I ring again or do you think they have just not processed it yet with it being provisional? I have tried ringing but cannot get through but I will either try again or wait depending on any advice anyone can give.
Thanks0 -
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if I will get a renewal please?
I claimed from April 2015 to September 2015 when my partner moved in. I phoned tax credits to end my claim and haven't received payment since.
But i've yet to receive a renewal form to confirm my income for that period and am worried that they are just going to ask for it all back?
Does anyone know if I will get one please?0
