Thanks SDW. They really liked the house. They asked lots of positive questions. They have however said that they are concerned about parking. The buyer has a large van. There is a large parking area in front of my garage which I sometimes park two cars in front of. I've told him he is more than welcome to come and try parking it here. They seemed happy to give it a go.

Let's see what the next few days bring

Nothing further to report since the weekend. My agent is calling for an update today from the people who had a 2nd viewing. I have a nagging feeling that there will be too much work for them to do as they said they would need to extend a bedroom to make it big enough for their tastes. Another week of waiting I guess. We have no more viewings booked in.

  • Funnily I have 4 viewings booked in this week.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I told my EA, they have a few days left before the end of my minimum term with them!!

3 days and counting and tbh I hope none of them offer :)

Yes strangely we had a lot of viewings just after I complained. Most likely coincidence but made me think!

The 2nd viewer didn't put an offer in, they decided to go with another house. So down to one couple who came back for a 2nd viewing who are still on holiday!

I'm thinking about dropping my price this week. I can't really afford to but I can afford to lose the house I want to buy either especially now the home buyers report bill has come in. Our vendors are putting their house back on the market on Friday if I don't secure a sale before then. It's all feeling a little desperate and I'm losing faith :(

What did you decide to do ccskitten? Awful for you :(

Nothing new to report on our side. No new viewings.

    Hi DebtFree2012

Well after a good conversation with the vendors estate agent and demonstrating everything I have done to try to secure a sale, the vendors have decided to give me another couple of week whilst they are on holiday. I get the impression they will wait for me but want to keep me on my toes.

I've decided against dropping my price for now as I don't think the issue is the price of my house, I just don't think there are any buyers out there as nothing is coming onto the market or being sold right now. I've received 2 offers so who's saying I won't get another one!

I'm with an online estate agent and have contacted a local one today to see if I can negotiate some fees and go duel agency. Hopefully that will help boost some viewings at least :) I'd rather pay an estate agent an additional £1k than drop the price of my house by £5k.

It's nearly the weekend which could potentially bring a whole new batch of potential buyers. Lets all stay positive :)

    Good decision!

I agree - it's quiet at the moment for me but should soon pick up once the holidays are over with. I hate waiting!!! :)

  • Well the guy who offered on our house has now dropped out. No further viewings booked :(

We have seen a holiday home we like and are having a second viewing in a few weeks (assuming it hasn't sold in the meantime). However, we have to sell our house first, so may be no go.

Oh well, back to the drawing board :(
