I've pretty much run out of patience with my situation. Accepted an offer 5 weeks ago now, we have been patiently waiting for the buyers mortgage offer to be made despite having been told by our solicitor on receipt of the offer that the buyer "had their finance in place".

FINALLY got a call on Monday am telling me the mortgage offer had been received and the missives would be concluded by Wednesday, heard nothing by 4.30 so called. They are thinking the buyers solicitor "may have posted the paperwork rather than fax it, maybe get it tomorrow".

All this despite the settlement date being next Friday. I think something stinks and I am calling them first thing in the morning telling them if the missives haven't been concluded by 1PM then I am putting the flat on the market again.

Managed to get a viewing and they even turned up - imagine that! That was Sunday so now I'm sat hoping. Slim chances though as ours was the third they've seen and they are just starting to look after receiving an offer on Friday on their own property. Fingers crossed they liked it enough or another viewer turns up.

It's so stressful getting the house ready for viewings! Kids and dogs were shipped out - it was unnaturally tidy and clean for us.

Been on 2 weeks and 1 viewing which was cancelled. Fortunately we are not in a rush but I do sometimes wonder if we will end up being here in a year or having to drop the price.

When we went on the EA made it sound like there were millions of buyers out there!

Yes they have a good way of making you hear what they want you to, which is after all, what we want to hear. Shame it's not been the true case for us at least :(

This sounds almost exactly like our situation but I am the buyer! We put our offer in on a property back at the end of May but explained that we were going on holiday for a couple of weeks and would be able to submit the full mortgage application until the 19th June. We did this and passed everything at the bank (RBS), however the bank have subsequently taken almost 5 weeks to get the offer past the underwriters and through the valuation phase. It actually took them 4 days from moving the application to offer to printing it out and sending it to us. 4 days to print a document!

Anyhow we finally got the offer through yesterday morning and our solicitor has started the ball rolling. We are dying to get moved in and are just as frustrated as the seller must be. His estate agent actually called me last week to say he was thinking of re-listing the property. I've tried my best to keep his estate agent updated with whats happening and my solicitor has been in touch with his solicitor. It just seems that these things can take some time!

Please have patience though, just because it's taking some time doesn't mean the buyer is dodgy!

Back to waiting for that buyer, which will be the 7th week on Friday this week. Only 3 more weeks until I can drop this EA :j

Thinking my EA is part of the problem as they have 4 houses in my area and none of them are selling, while other EA's have no problem selling.

Good luck everyone, our buyers are just around the corner :)

I only got about 6 viewings spaced over 4 weeks with them but one of the middle ones put in an offer I was after...I'm also in Bassett, where houses of your size but not necessarily with a garage are about the same price....[edited bit - or even with a garage....]

Still no offer and no further viewings booked. It'll be 5 weeks that we've been on the market - the EA said that this week will be quiet as it's the first week of the summer holidays. It couldn't BE quieter.

Hi all, thought I'd start a thread for everyone waiting for a buyer seeing as that's what I'm doing at the moment.

House went up for sale on the 25th of March and so far we've had just one viewer, who then offered, which we accepted only to have them pull out a week later.

House is priced competitively in my view so I'm trying to stay optimistic.

    How's everyone else doing?

I'd like to join the thread. Our house has been up for a sale for month, we had no viewings for the first few weeks, now we have dropped the price we have had one, and another one tomorrow.

There is no upward chain, we already have our bungalow, and it is almost ready to move into :)

    Here's our house,just in case :) :
