Ellie - not always. I set a budge aside for selling the house and use a minimum value for our sale. Turns out this was actually accurate and I am glad I used it. Was I tempted to go 1k lower and stretch ourselves a little more, sure, but I stuck to my guns and held out for the minimum.
Turns out though the house price that our sellers want is greater than what we had planned so are faced with being stretched for a while until the wife returns to work (made redundant at the start of the year, but she is on mat leave...), or look elsewhere (doing that this weekend).
Sometimes overstretching, assuming it planned and managed over stretching in the short term is do-able as long as there is a longer term plan to put yourself in a better position.0 -
We bought the house we were after :j:j, there were six offers on the table so we had to go waaaay over the asking price but as we hope it's going to be our last move we don't mind to much. Our biggest problem is the size of the place, it's at least half the size of the house we have now and I don't think our furniture will fit in :rotfl:, as we paid more than I wanted to the conservatory that my oh wanted will have to wait but I'm hoping the extension over the garage that I want will still go ahead.0

There are many real estate investors ready to help for any buying and selling homes. You can take help from them. My friend just sold his house to one of them. His house was based near the Hampton road in Virginia. We know that the home sale process can be stressful, but the real estate investors are committed to making this process the easiest it can be for you.0

When I sold my own house a few weeks ago I had 8 calls and 5 viewers in the first 2 days and sold in a week, I have had my Dad's flat on the market 2 days and nothing! It is a totally different market I am in with lots of similar properties and I knew it would be slow going but still a little depressing.0
