Nope... although just learnt that they had been in with the EA this morning and had discussions. Seems as though there maybe room for manoeuvre (esp if we can get the EA to drop their rates they are charging the vendor), but we need to think long and hard about it because it does need some work doing to it, some immediately, some in the future.
But there are a number of others we are going to look at which have fixtures and fittings already done for around the same price, just a little smaller... hmmm!0 -
After our house been on the market a week had our first viewing today, I was so nervous but seemed to go well so fingers crossed! They were cash buyers as well so if went well can move quickly0

Good and bad news from me, had an offer but it's 1k under what I can afford to accept.
Countered with an extra 2k and he's sleeping on it. The offer is 5%ish under asking price.
*sigh*0 -
Daerve £1k dont seem much in the scheme of things we have been thinking of what we will accept and theres obviously limit. Lets hope they sleep well and come back to you.0

Indeed 1k isn't much at all. The problem I have is that I wouldn't have enough cash to cover the deposit on the one we want to buy by dropping below my minimum let alone fees to move.
At the minimum the fees would have to be paid out of money we are yet to earn so it's a massive stretch as it is. We've luckily just had a PPI refund or the offer would be 4k short.
So frustrating. Just hope he comes back tomorrow with good news.0 -
Thats what i ment sorry if i wasnt clear that its frustrating that its only £1k thats stopping u.0

Joining the club for a second time in 3 months! Just sold my own house and moving in 5 weeks time and now going through the same process with my late dad's flat. It just went on the market today but not expecting a mad rush to the door as there is a fair amount of the same kind of flat around that area.
It's priced quite competatively so fingers crossed.0 -

If a £1k drop in price would mean you couldnt buy the house that you want then I do think you are really over-stretching yourselves.0 -

We could easily buy it but we couldn't get an 85% LTV ratio on a mortgage which would mean paying a lot more over the long term.
While we really want the house we are looking to buy I'm not prepared to pay an extra hundred quid a month on the mortgage which is what it would work out to if we went over the 85% LTV ratio.0
