Not like here then, once a price has been agreed and accepted by both parties then that's it and the sold sign goes up.

Mmmm we've not signed anything but our solicitor has told us to put the sold sign up and that the house has sold that's also what happened when we sold our last place all of 22 years ago, this is only the second time we've sold so we don't really know all the ins and outs of house buying and selling. This should with a bit of luck be our last move :j, I don't fancy going through all this again.

I'm now eligible to join this thread - my house went on the market today. I was up at 6am cleaning, in preparation for the photographs. I hadn't realised there were so many cobwebs and why didn't I know there was old cat sick under the bed! The Estate Agent's photos make the house look lovely - hope viewers aren't disappointed with the real thing.

My 'de-cluttering' has been to shove things in cupboards. If any prospective purchaser opens any cupboard in this house they'll be taking their life in their hands... and I really hope no-one asks to look inside the garage. I need to do a bit of sorting behind the scenes - at the moment, fur coat and no knickers springs to mind!

I'm well stocked up with valium and fabreze...

Disappointing news.... our dream house is a non-starter. House is perfect, just needs a little TLC, its the vendors. They said they would not budge from their asking price 5 minutes into the 2nd viewing without even being prompted!! We were going to offer 15k below this which I believe to be market value from my research, but even offering 10k below asking which is more than the market value and more than others which have been and gone didn't phase them!

    oh well... onwards we go!

You never know they might not be able to sell at that price and end up having to drop it! :o

My house went on Rightmove yesterday. So far I've had 3 viewers, plus another 3 viewings lined up for the weekend. Reasonable feedback from those who've viewed and don't want to buy.

I'm not a naturally tidy person so this constant vacuuming and putting things away is a real pain. I had intended to move the cat litter tray before viewings but that's already fallen by the wayside - although I did remove the poo from it!

No viewings booked for tomorrow so a good opportunity to paint over the dirt on the skirting board... and who knew that light switches get so filthy?

Good luck to all who are waiting to sell - I now realise what you're going through.

Had our third viewing this afternoon, seemed to go okay but as ever who knows?

First time buyer but is yet to see a mortgage advisor so may be a none starter.

Getting so fed up of cleaning the house constantly. I wouldn't mind if we had people coming every few days but 2 months has yielded just 3 viewings.
