Mobiles.co.uk, can they be trusted?

  • Hi,

I'm looking at getting a iPhone 6s next month and have been looking around for the best deals. I used uSwitch to find the iPhone for £24.99pm £100 upfront with 1000mins, unlimited texts and 2gb 4g data with EE through mobiles.co.uk. Is this too good to be true? Similar contracts on EE/Three/O2 etc are £30-£40 a month.

They say they are part of CarphoneWarehouse and have been given a few awards but I look at their reviews on trust pilot and some said they offer you the deal, send you through a credit check and then just decline it as if the deal never existed. USwitch also advertises similar websites like mobilephonesdirect.co.uk and buymobiles.net.

Has anyone had any experience with these websites and/or any good at look at T&C to see any dodgy info?! Seems too good to be true!

Thanks, (this is my first post too!)

They are OK, but if it's a redemption (cashback) deal do extra research on this sort of deals.
  • I got a phone through them a couple of years ago and had no issues.

As long as you are aware that if you leave the air time contract before the minimum term expires, even by a day, even if you pay it off or upgrade, you will probably have to either return the phone or pay a one off cost to be able to keep it.

    Not the case for mobiles.co.uk
  • I have 4 cashback by redemption mobile phone contracts running currently for myself, my wife and two sons. All were begun at various times during 2014 and will end during this year and I have claimed and been paid my cashback without a single issue so far...... That said, I do follow the rules to the letter but its not rocket science after all.

Anyone know where the best cashback deals can be found for contract mobiles now as Mobiles.co.uk don't seem to be offering the great deals they used to ??

I've been a successful mobile cashbacker for donkey's years, like you; and also like you, I favour CPW contracts. Don't think I've ever come across MPD before, and in fact the reason I'm here is because I've just found a deal through them which I'm interested in... do you rate them?

So far, so good. I have 2 contracts through them now and am watching over 2 for other people I ordered for. Ordering is poor, but all the first cashback claims were paid VERY fast and direct into our bank accounts. Given how much I have made on my mobile contracts over the last few years using these deals and the low level tariffs involved I am quite happy to use them, though still regard them as hogher risk than CPW.

Thanks - will probably give them a whirl then...!

There seems to be very good deals about on IPhone 6s on uswitch via mobiles.co.uk on EE

I was thinking about buying a iPhone 6s from Giff gaff 64g £599 and continuing with my £7.50 sim which would be £779 over 2 years. But it looks like via uswitch I can get one for £100 upfront and £25.99 a month which is £723.76 over 2 years, so it's cheaper! Only downside is it's not an unlocked phone.
    Am I missing something!
