Well from my experience, mobile phones direct was absolutely fine and had a cracking deal on the phone I wanted at the time.
This wasn't a cash-back arrangement either, as I wasn't aware that's what the OP was looking for :money:
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
Most of the deals - and certainly the best - on Mobiles.co (which is what the OP WAS asking about - are cashback. And the road to ranting and raving is paid with thousands of people who had one good experience with a company. Though non-cashback deals are different.0

I've had a couple contracts with Mobiles that have just finished, and actually just took another one out yesterday. Prior to that I've also used OSPS and E2save, so I've got plenty of experience of all the parts of this group.
Back in the "olden days" getting the cashback was a painful experience. They would constantly change the address to post them to, and you had to use special delivery otherwise they would deny receipt. Different documents would contradict each other on which bills had to be sent in. You really had to jump through hoops to get the cashback.
More recently they have made things so much easier. You log into your account on Mobiles and it tells you exactly which bills are needed. Set a reminder for them in your calendar. Then as they come due log in to the network's website, download the .PDF of the bill, and upload it to Mobiles. Cheque comes through the post a week later. Only downside is the deals aren't as good as they once were, but the ease of claiming makes up for that.0 -
I bought an o2 contract sim via mobiles.co.uk a few months ago to claim cashback. I have tried claiming cashback but it has been rejected because the mobile number on the bill is different to the one they have on account. The reason why the number is different is because when i received the sim i transferred my existing number onto it. Is there anything i can do to sort this situation out? The email response i received seems to be automated so i dont know who to contact to resolve this situation.0

- You do not inform us of a change in your mobile number. If you decided to change your mobile number since taking out your contract, you must notify us of the change for your cashback claim to be valid. You can tell us about your change by clicking here and logging in to your online account
In the past one was supposed to send copies of the bill(s) proving the porting.
Re contacting them see http://www.mobiles .co.uk/contactus.html0 -
If you log into yuor account you can send a message from there. Tell them that you ported your number but neglected to inform them, which is why it was different to the one on your account. If you claimed immediately you may still have time to get it corrected and still claim (60 days from the date of the bill). If not, you should still do the same and so be able to make future claims successfully. There appears to be no timescale in the t&c for informing them of the port.
I recommend in future that you do a lot more research on cashback deals before entertaining one. It is much easier nowadays (sadly, because the deals are therefore a lot worse) - but that doesn't mean you should go in lightly and with limited understanding if you expect to get paid.0 -
Don't trust them with quidco cashback 2 claims rejected0

Interesting. I cancelled my Topcashback membership for the same reason, although have received it for later purchase via Quidco.0

Exactly the opposite, with every mobiles.co.uk purchase through TCB the cash back has been paid within 28 days.0

So were mine - hundreds of them. Until a few months ago.0
