  • Right so here we are... my September bill has arrived. I took out the contract at the end of April, so it's my 5th bill, and on-line it says to send this one. However, it's not the 6th bill as was originally stipulated.

    What to do?!

  • Send the September bill. Even if they try and change the rules of the game, it's better than being a month late. However, it really SHOULD be the September bill (month 6 regardless of bill number is how THIS set of t&c was operated by E2SAVE).
  • Yeah I think I will chance it, and include a printout of the on-line thing that says I have to send in September.

This is a money saving site. As customers are having to contact you, why can you not give a geographic number or even a free number to ring, as it's your companies c0ck up!

  • After speaking to them on the phone, they told me that it is deff the October bill you have to send in,and that it is a mistake on the website. She said that the website was going to be looked at and changed. But to be honest with all the problems we have all encountered with this company i too do not want to take anything they say as gospel!!

Hi there - I got mine quite soon after Eleanor looked into it (see near the start of the thread). Unfortunately she has disappeared of late - but looks like she has a replacement on this thread this week!

  • One of my little flock got their first Virgin sim on time as we planned. It IS the September bill for an April purchase; but then you should have made your first claim in June as my friend did. People claiming in July were told they were too late. Whatever they say now (since they are attempting to CHANGE the t&c to suit a DIFFERENT processing centre who always DID work differently) they are deliberately misleading everyone now. They will tell you to ignore the written information on your actual account in preference to what they TELL you orally over the phone - but then refuse to put in writing. Of course, BOTH lots of information ignore the ACTUAL ones you signed up to under present t&c. This is utterly deliberate now - I can no longer excuse it on the grounds of incompetence. It is pure deceit. If you don't know exactly what you're doing, stay away or commence with the assumption that you will need to sue to get your money out of them.

I had an E2Save contract in the past and know the problems with cashback.

I think that mobile firms and brokers who sell these deals should just have to sell them for an up front price. There has been so many problems with these. Cashback deals do not seem fairly operated. If a deal is meant to be only pay for x months, then you should only get billed for x months, instead of sending in bills - the phone company have your bill in the first place and know exactly what you have and haven't spent!!!

Martin - what about a campaign on oftel to ban these and make pricing clear??
  • If you don't like the deals, don't go for them - but we still live in a free country and personally I much prefer to have the choice! I have got about 20 cashback deals for myself and my friends. We've never lost a cashback and I intend that will continue for as long as possible. If you want to pay through the nose for your mobile contract, be my guest - but don't start yet another crusade to make everyone else do so as well if they choose not to!

I would also point out that whatever problems who had in the past will pale into insignificance in the furture - and although I HAVE encountered a few minor problems with cpw companies in the past they were definitely very good in general. I say that despite my strong recent criticism of their new attitude and approach!

People may be interested to learn that cpw is almost certainly about to move into the footsie 100 list as one of the top 100 companies in the country by shareholder value. That doesn't mean very much in itself - there are many other dishonest and incompetent ones there already - but at least they really DO qualify as a LARGE company.
