Vehicle Control Service bailiffs

Hi,
Apologies if this has appeared before, but I've searched and can't see any reference to this particular issue.
A letter was received in May 2014 for allegedly 'parking' in a no parking zone at Liverpool Airport. This was ignored as was the next similar letter (July 2014) both from VCS. I have now had two bailiffs letters, first was from 'newlyn' August 2014) and gave no minimun time to respond. The second one, recevied today is from 'Rossendales Collect' and specifies a 7 day responce period otherwise 'recovery action will commence'!!
My question is, has anyone actually had bailiffs turn up to recover the debt? I am concerned but am willing to stand my ground as the car in question wasn't parked, just stopped for a very short period of time,
Thanks in advance.

You haven't had any bailiff's letters. Search the forum for the keywords!
Rossendales finds my thread...from a while back...eek!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Baliffs can only turn up if you have been to court, lost, refused to pay then an order sought. I take it none of this has happened?0

How do I find your thread Coupon-mad? I've Ben trying to find threads all morning!!
No, haven't been to court, not yet anyway!0 -
Use the search function, searching for "Rossendale".
This is probably the thread that CM refers to: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/50356630 -
Thats great, thank you very much, I do feel reassured, but initially was concerned (thats how they make theri money)!!
I did try to search Rossendales initially as I can see how frustrated everyone gets with repeat requests, but I couldnt find anything.
I have used the links posted and am happy to sit and wait for the next letter!
Thank you all for your help.0 -

Both companies (Newlyn and Rossendale) are only allowed to send 'debt recovery' letters and these are NOT allowed to state the word 'bailiff' on them. If they do, then a formal complaint should be made to DVLA without delay.

@OP - this is no idle advice. Sheila knows exactly what she is talking about.
For the record I have no link commercial of otherwise to bailiff advice online but have known (for some years) of Sheila's knowledge and good works via her website. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Thanks Sheila

Thank you so much for your kind words...they really do mean a lot to me xx
PS: For the record, we have removed our premium rate phone number and are currently awaiting BT allocating a new number. All enquiries will then be free.

Ooh, gee shucks Sheila. :embarasse
Meant it though. You have provided some really welcome reassurance and valuable guidance to posters here (and elsewhere on MSE) so I'd imagine your name is probably mud in certain quarters?
